Get Chiropractic Before Summer Camp
By Brandi Goodman
Summer camp varies from one location to another, but one commonality remains. You spend time engaging in a number of fun activities. Whether you're attending a months-long option or just going to day camp for a week as part of a vacation, you'll still be trying out various physical activities. Swimming, volleyball, horseshoes, kayaking, and more are typically on the list. If you or, perhaps more likely, your child, is going to engage in summer camp, get chiropractic beforehand so your body is fully prepared.
Correcting Joint Restrictions
Even the most subtle joint restriction can cause a lot of havoc for you. You may find it difficult to fully exert yourself or extend your joints to their full reach. Getting any subluxations corrected before you go to camp can ensure you have all your movement and abilities under control.
Improving Range of Motion
Whether a restriction is causing a lack of movement in a particular area, or you're simply tense and tight, a visit to the chiropractor can help. An adjustment will help to improve your range of motion and ensure your muscles and joints are flexible and able to handle any vigorous activities you'll be doing.
Preventing Injuries
Say you skip the chiropractor and head straight to camp. An inflexible body tends to be weak and more susceptible to injury. You could be rowing your kayak and quickly pull something in your shoulder. Maybe you develop swimmer's shoulder in the water. You could hurt your knee or ankle while running. Getting chiropractic care just ensures your joints are in good condition and you have less of a chance of developing an injury. Be sure to stretch properly first regardless.
Get Chiropractic Again After
You shouldn't only start your summer camp season with chiropractic. You should end it with it as well. Once your summer camp days are behind you for the year, it's best to visit the chiropractor again and get an adjustment that can ease any tension you put on yourself and help you recover from all you've experienced.
Your summer camp days should always start (and end) with chiropractic. Before you leave for camp, visit the chiropractor and ensure your spine is in good condition and your body is flexible and capable of handling all of the activities you want to do. You'll have a much better camping experience if you do. The Joint Chiropractic is available for walk-ins until the evening and even on Saturdays so you can go at your convenience.
