How to Spring Clean Your Body
By Sara Butler
As the seasons are changing and spring is finally on the horizon, many people seize the opportunity to clean their houses from top to bottom to usher in the new season. If you take the time to clean your home for spring, then perhaps you should take the time to do the same for your body! Here are some tips from your chiropractor to help you give your body a little spring cleaning!
Drink Plenty of Water
One of the best ways to perk up your body and prepare it for warmer weather and more activity is to make sure you’re fully hydrated! You should be drinking half your weight in ounces of good old aqua every single day for best results. This keeps every cell in your body healthy, and improves your spinal health too!
If you want to give it a little pep, add some fresh fruit or herbs such as mint to your water. Refreshing!
See Your Chiropractor
Start spring off right and without joint restrictions or dysfunctions with the help of your chiropractor. When your body is able to work at its very best then everything you do will seem a little better, especially since chiropractic care has been proven to help with stress, support a healthy immune system, and help you to sleep better at night.
Go Get a Move On!
The weather is finally nice outside, so get some exercise! Go for a hike to enjoy the buds of spring or just go for a walk before dinner to get some fresh air and your blood pumping. You should aim for moderate exercise for 30 minutes most days of the week.
Get Your Vitamin D
Getting outside and feeling the sunshine on your face is a great way to get some more Vitamin D in your life. Most people don’t get enough Vitamin D, which can have a big impact on your mood and the way your body works. So make sure you get about 20 minutes of sunshine during the day!
Get Rid of Processed Foods
One of the great things about spring is the new vegetables and fruits coming into season for you to enjoy! So, walk right on past all that highly processed and prepackaged food and reach for fresh, healthy fruits and vegetables.
If you have questions about how to improve your health this spring, ask your chiropractor!
