Keep on reading to see what you can do to prevent back pain while dealing with the unique circumstances of these times.
Create Healthy Routines and Habits Now
For most of us, our daily lives have some sort of structure built in. Whether we're going to work, school, or fulfilling household duties, we have certain routines which we stick to, and which keep us active throughout the day. Now that those routines are being disrupted for so many of us, it can be easy to slip into patterns that aren't good for our overall health and well-being.
Do your best to create a new routine at home to help you navigate this time. Implement times for stretching, cooking, working out, and practicing self-care in order to reduce stress and muscle tension.
If you're working from home, make sure your work station supports your spine. For starters, keep your computer or laptop at eye-level, and invest in a chair which supports your back. You may want to use a pillow for lumbar support as well.
Stay Active
Don't forget to stay physically active even while staying at home! If it's safe for you to do so, be sure to go out for a long walk at least once a day around your neighborhood. While inside the home, find a yoga or cardio video to follow along with and exercise at least three times a week.
