One Healthy Meal A Day Can Do A Lot

If someone wants to make a healthy change in diet, it is not really that hard.  There is not as much sacrifice as many people often think.  Most of the stress about it is in their minds.  There are plenty of people who have some pretty bad habits with their eating.  It is mostly about making choices.  Bad ones can wreck a person’s health.  Too many people make excuses about continuing to eat badly.  The beginning of change can be simple.  Choosing to eat one healthy meal per day can introduce a person to better foods a step at a time.  The hope would be that they would develop an appreciation for the good foods, resulting in making better choices all the time.

A Good Healthy Food to Start With

Salad has a bad reputation with some people.  This may be largely because they see it as bland.  Nothing could be more untrue.  They can be made with any of several leafy vegetables, such as different kinds of lettuce, kale, spinach, and a few others.  Tomatoes are always a hit.  Broccoli, cauliflower, olives, cucumbers, and many other things can add some real character to each salad.  It doesn’t have to stop there.  Salads should have some kind of protein added to make them complete.

Vitamin, Fiber, And Antioxidants Are Plentiful

Fibers can be more filling, lower blood pressure and cholesterol, as well as help clean out the colon.  Since they are generally lower in calories, it can help in weight loss.  The antioxidants are good for fighting some cancers and a few other diseases.  The vitamins in most salads can help to provide what the body needs to maintain healthy functions in general.

Full of Flavor and Builds Strong Bodies

When the right kinds of proteins are added to a salad, they can be a great source of energy and building stronger muscles.  Lean meats, lower fat cheeses, and eggs can all add needed protein.  In order to make a salad more appealing, a good salad dressing can be used in addition to some other things to spice it up and bring out the flavors.  Nuts, seeds, avocado, beans, and many more things can make each salad unique.  There is no reason to have the exact same salad every day when there are so many ways to change it up.  If you want to make your diet healthier, add a salad each day.  You are sure to notice the difference in a very short time.
