A Passion For Longevity Can Drive Your Health

By Tom Herrin

It can be good to have an internal sensor that motivates people enough to make things happen.  When people decide to take positive steps about managing something such as aging, it can be the start of something great.  Health and longevity are nothing to be laughed at.  Studies have shown that people can have quite an influence on their own rate of aging.  Many who have lived sedentary lives for years can change their practices and add good exercise.  They may see results as soon a weeks or months, sometimes reversing some of the damage from the years of inactivity.  Doing something to affect their own lives can be a great feeling of empowerment.

Exercise Has Always Been And Always Will Be

There simply can be no replacement for good exercise.  This means the kind that pushes the body to improve itself, yet stopping short of total exhaustion.  For those who have not really embraced it, once they begin, they will surely feel revitalized.  The key is for it to be regular without putting it off for some other thing.  A commitment to exercise can improve muscles, bones, and circulation.  Many of those signs of age-related problems will not even show at all.  Injuries are less likely.  Balance and reaction time may be improved.

The Value Of Sleep Is Overlooked By Some

When people fail to get quality sleep, it may show in the skin and mental functions.  With a good exercise program, they will have taken a step in the right direction to obtain good sleep.  Certain chemicals are produced during sleep that cannot be duplicated effectively any other way.  Serious effort can help people to obtain meaningful sleep.  They may be surprised at what effect sleep can have on health and appearance.

Attitude Is A Valuable Intangible

Some things are difficult to quantify, but you still know they are necessary.  You can’t always directly measure attitude, however its presence is certainly recognized.  People with a good attitude may socialize better and have more confidence.  They often see life as having purpose.  They are the ones who volunteer time and effort to help others in need.  They understand the value of personal interaction.  Studies have shown that a good attitude may add years to life.  Think about it and smile more if living a longer life appeals to you.
