Get Out of That Rut With a Change to Your Routine

I am going to go out on a limb and say that for the most part, we all need to follow a daily routine. Daily routines are what give us stability, security, and peace of mind in this crazy, busy world that we live in. They contribute to how healthy, productive, and successful we are, but they can also lead us to some major ruts and some lackluster days. Creativity can become stifled by doing the same thing over and over, day in and day out, and boredom can easily make itself at home. It's important to prevent that from happening at all costs and you can do so by shaking things up a bit! Take a look.

Explore New Things

Do you have a list of places you have wanted to visit over the past couple of years but didn't because life was just too busy at the moment? Well, the time to do so is now! Whether it's a new restaurant, a nearby city, or a grand vacation, exploring new locations is a great way to add some spark into your routine. 

Switch Your Schedule

Not feeling adventurous enough for a spontaneous vacation? No worries! You can still add some spice to your day by simply switching up your daily routine. Wake up a little earlier and treat yourself to breakfast at your favorite coffee shop, try a new workout when it's time to exercise, or push those unimportant emails to the side and catch up with a friend instead.

Go on a Digital Detox

You may not be able to do this for longer than a couple of hours, but that's OK! Any amount of time that you can break free from the endless chatter that comes from your phone is a good thing, so turn it off and set it aside! Take a trip down memory lane and experience what it used to be like when you could do the things you love without the type of distractions you have today from your phone. Doesn't just the thought of doing that make you excited?

There is nothing more "un-routine" than the idea of taking the day off and doing whatever you want to, is there? So what are you waiting for? Just do it! The entire day is yours and the options are endless! Just be sure to come back to reality when you are done!
