Apples get most of the attention in the fruit world, but there is another fruit that is delicious, nutritious, and very healthy. The overshadowed pear is an excellent addition to the diet. Pears come in a number of varieties with a subtle sweet flavor and a softer texture than apples. They can be used in salads, are great in fruit tarts, and very tasty when eaten raw. Their nutrition is similar to that of the apple. A single medium pear contains lots of fiber, nutrients, just 100 calories, and no cholesterol or fat. Here are some ways that pears benefit your health.
Healthy Hair and Skin
Pears contain significant amounts of Vitamin A, an essential nutrient for the health of hair, skin, and nails. They also contain zeaxanthin and lutein, which take part in enzyme reactions that reduce age spots and wrinkles. This combination of nutrients can help keep skin healthy, glowing, and youthful. It is also great for healthy hair. Pears are a great way to ensure you get your daily allowance of Vitamin A.
Healthy Bones
Pears also have significant amounts of calcium, copper, manganese, magnesium, and phosphorus. These trace minerals play a large role in keeping the bones strong and healthy.
