What Is Frozen Shoulder?

Frozen shoulder is a disorder that affects people with persistent shoulder stiffness and it may cause pain for several weeks. It most often occurs when inflammation on the shoulder increases because of shoulder immobility or difficulty in normally flexing and stretching the shoulder.

If left unchecked, frozen shoulder may last long for a year, making it difficult to sleep properly, exercise, or engage in other typical daily activities without pain. The longer the shoulder pain continues, the more your mobility is restricted. In the long term, this serves to aggravate frozen shoulder pain.

Frozen shoulder may be treated early with tailored shoulder exercises and stretches. Natural anti-inflammatory treatments may help manage symptoms and prevent stiffness from increasing. Doing shoulder stretching and exercises may play a big role in treating a frozen shoulder.
