Tips to Manage Stress

By Omer Rashid

Stress is a state of psychological and physiological pressure. It can emerge from any activity or thinking that makes you feel upset, irritated, or anxious. Stress is the response of your body to a threat or a desire. In brief bursts, stress can be beneficial, such as helping you escape risk or meeting a deadline.

Stress is a common part of our lives. You can experience stress through your surroundings, body, thoughts, etc. Stress can be positive too and it can keep you motivated and goal-oriented. Stress becomes negative when a person faces a lot of challenges without having any time to relax.

Causes of Stress

We all live in a society where we face problems every day, it depends on us how we face those problems how we cope up with them. If we are unable to solve these daily life issues, they add up to cause stress, which can be harmful to your health. Every person has different stress triggers. The main reason is unemployment or being unhappy with the job. A lot of people have stress because they are not promoted, and their salary is not enough to run a family. Too much work at the office or working late hours can cause stress. Death of your loved ones, relationship problems, divorce, harassment, emotional issues like depression anxiety, or any other life-changing traumatic incident are the causes of stress and can have a disastrous impact.

How to Get Relief From Stress?

Exercise is the key way to reduce stress. Yoga and aerobics give you energy and internal peace. Those who exercise daily are likely to be less prone to stress as compared to those who don't do exercise. There's a reason behind the beneficial effect of exercising. If you exercise daily, you sleep well and sleeping reduces stress.

Burning a scented candle may help to reduce stress. The fragrance of lavender rose, orange, sandalwood, etc., are the most calming scents and, according to research, these aromatherapies are very helpful when someone is feeling stressed. They also improve sleep.

Caffeine is the most consumed psychoactive substance and this surely helps you to reduce stress. Caffeine can be found in coffee, tea, dark chocolates, and cocoa. Chocolate also helps to decrease the level of stress and pain.

Another thing you can do when you have no one to share your thoughts is jotting them down in a journal. A journal can be your best friend and the best thing it does is that it gives you an opportunity to vent without getting judged. Also, try to spend quality time with your family and friends and laugh as much as you can.

Try the above tips and they will surely help you to gain mental peace. We all face problems every day, let them not be our disease. Try to cope with the stress without medication. You can also consult with our local chiropractic center.
