Fall Is the Best Camping Weather

By Virginia Laird

Camping can be an exciting activity for everyone in your family. Those who love it know that fall is the best time to get outside. As the weather cools off and offers crisp mornings, it can be invigorating and motivating to spend time outdoors. Still, there are plenty of health benefits that accompany a camping trip to your favorite campground. These include:

  • Sleep is better when camping
  • Fresh air is great for your immune system
  • Camping can offer a host of hiking trails

Sleep is Better When Camping

Because you have likely spent a great deal of your time actively hiking the trails and enjoying other outdoor activities, your body will be tired when it is time to hit the sleeping bag. Most report having little issue falling asleep while on a camping trip. And many say they awake in the morning feeling refreshed and ready to go for another big day in the great outdoors. It is also quite beneficial that the weather during the fall is pleasant enough to keep you from being too hot as you sleep. Cooler temps make it easier to snuggle down in a sleeping bag for a great night of sleep. For those who are looking for a way to improve your ability to rest, plan a camping trip soon.

Fresh Air is Great for Your Immune System

The more time you spend in the great outdoors, away from the pollution of the city, the more pure oxygen the body is able to absorb. This offers a great boost of energy, as well as boosts the immune system. When the body has the oxygen it needs to function properly, all the systems of the body are improved. During flu season, it is a great idea to spend a little time in nature to help naturally boost the immunity of your family members.

Camping Can Offer a Host of Hiking Trails

For most, camping is the time to get active. Many spend time participating in a wide variety of outdoor activities, including hiking. Most camping areas offer a wide variety of trails to follow. These are full of nature's ever changing beauty. Still, the exercise you will gain from hiking these trails can help improve (and maintain) your health. As you prepare for your camping trip, make sure you have all you need (comfy shoes) to properly enjoy the hiking trails you are sure to tackle while you are there.
