Do It All Wisely for Health
By Tom Herrin
Some people say that no one can do it all. This is true to some extent, but someone who really wants to burn the candle at both ends can do a pretty good job of it. The key is to still include elements that are most important. Work and some kind of culture are often needed to maintain balance. Another thing that really needs to be included is some kind of exercise. Many people neglect their need for it in a big way. It is one of those things that can catch up with them and create serious problems before they know. At the same time, they likely need to keep other things in their schedule in order to experience personal growth. They may be able to trim activities and still receive benefits.
Trim the Run
Most people who enjoy running also enjoy spending time doing it. This is great except for the times that it seems to limit their opportunity to do other things. Some studies have shown that people may be able to reduce their running time and still support good health. These studies have found that people may run seven minutes per day and stay healthy. Some have found that this may cut their risk of dying from heart disease by as much as 45 percent. For seven short minutes a day, this is a good and cheap investment of time and effort.
Be Happy and Healthy
Happiness and health often seems to go hand-in-hand. A Japanese study found that people who rode a stationary bike for 10 minutes per day appear to be happier. This may help to enable them to take on more physical activity that can be more beneficial. They also perform well on various tasks that have a need for good reaction time. Who hasn't felt better able overall when they have been happy?
Exercise Good Planning Skills
We often learn by lots of experience. If we are fortunate, we can learn well. When it comes to finding ways to maintain our exercise program and still include most of our other activities, we can do it. We just need to consider all of the options. One of the good options is to shorten our exercise session and still protect ourselves physically. It may be a lot easier than any of us may feel, but the rewards are too good to pass up.
