4 Chiropractic Tips for Indoor Amusement Centers
By Brandi Goodman
Indoor amusement centers are popular places any time of year -- but particularly when it's cold outside or the weather is otherwise unbearable. They offer lots of entertainment and gaming options to occupy your time. However, some of these places offer far more activities that can leave you aching if you aren't careful. Keep chiropractic in mind while you enjoy them.
Keep Your Core Engaged During Bumper Boats or Cars
Lots of people enjoy bumper boats and bumper cars. You get to smack into other vehicles as you make your way around the track. It's important that you don't sit slouched while you do this. Keep your core engaged and your back straight. This will help your body stay strong as you experience each hit. Failing to do so can shake your body around too much and leave you feeling sore.
Stretch Before You Go
Even if all you do is walk around playing games, it's still wise to stretch before you go. All of the walking and movement can wear your body out quickly if you didn't stretch and get limber first. If you're planning on doing any additional activities, this will be especially important.
Wear Athletic Shoes
You want to be wearing athletic shoes when you go as well. Never wear heels when you plan on walking from one end of a building to another. Plus, you wouldn't want the heel of your shoe to get stuck anywhere, such as behind the gas pedal while you're playing bumper cars. Athletic shoes are sturdy and comfortable and will help you avoid mishaps -- and aches in your lower body.
Drink Water
Lots of amusement centers offer a food area where items such as soda pop and pizza are sold. Skip these unhealthy options and be sure you're drinking water instead. Water helps the joints stay limber and will provide you with the energy you need to make it through your fun night. Soda and juice will have you crashing out quickly.
Indoor amusement centers and similar activity locations can bring quite the enjoyment. They can also bring a lot of pain if you aren't careful. Keep these chiropractic tips in mind so you can enjoy your time at the facility and head home feeling relaxed, not hurting. If you do experience back pain, head into The Joint Chiropractic after or the next day to get an adjustment and help put your body back in order.
