Fewer Cheeseburgers Could Mean Longer Life

By Tom Herrin

For people who would like to be in control of their own lives and health, there are several things they can actually do to help their cause.  They don’t really have to be control freaks but simply someone who wants to make a real difference.  Studies have shown some fairly surprising results in ways people may be able to either reverse some of the effects of aging or delay them for a longer while.  The question comes down to just what are they willing to do in order to achieve such a goal?  Pretty much anything worth having is worth sacrificing for.

Complacency Can Drain People

When people go about their normal routines without taking some positive steps, they can expect several things to go south about their health.  Once they pass their 20s and 30s, blood pressure and blood sugar tend to increase.  Cholesterol numbers often move the wrong way, and general aches and pains show up more.  The heart loses some of its ability to move blood.  Muscle usually declines while fat increases.  Waistlines may increase as well.  Instances of type 2 diabetes are on the rise largely due to some of this.

A More Active Life Can Shave Off Years

When people become active and stay that way, they have a right to expect some benefits.  In some studies, people who have been very inactive have changed to an active routine with good exercise and virtually turned back the hands of time in terms of their own aging.  Regular exercise can improve cholesterol numbers and lower blood sugar.  The heart will generally be strengthened so that it can become more efficient.  Greater mobility may be regained with less pain and discomfort.

Lowfat Diets Can Pay Off In A Big Way

There have been numerous studies on diets and plenty of fads that have proposed to have super effects on the body.  One thing that seems to have been established for sure is that low fat diets can truly extend life.  The genetic material in your body can be improved by lengthening the telomeres.  This can have a direct correlation to length of life.  This requires a real commitment on the part of you as the individual, but wouldn’t you do just about anything for the chance to be more in control of your own health and well-being?  It is well worth a try.
