Dr. Donald (DJ) Butterfield grew up primarily in Utah, by way of Texas, Okinawa, Japan, and Missouri, thanks to his father’s work in the United States Air Force. After high school, Dr. Butterfield served as a missionary in Perth, Australia for two years, before joining the Air Force himself. He was introduced to chiropractic after a work accident at the age of sixteen, and maintained an interest in holistic healing throughout his time as a missionary and in the military. In 2012, Dr. Butterfield relocated to Davenport, Iowa to pursue his dream of a chiropractic education at Palmer College of Chiropractic, the school founded by the father of Chiropractic, D.D. Palmer, in 1897.
While at Palmer, Dr. Butterfield trained in a variety of chiropractic techniques, including Activator Methods, Diversified, Thompson, Logan Basic, and Quantum Spinal Mechanics. Dr. Butterfield was privileged to complete a portion of his residency at two Community Outreach clinics, providing care for under-served communities in Iowa and Illinois. He has experience treating immuno-compromised patients, as well as those with cerebral palsy and other permanent health conditions. Thanks in part to his wife’s two pregnancies during his time at Palmer, Dr. Butterfield has also developed techniques to alleviate many of the discomforts of pregnancy and to facilitate optimal birth positions for babys.
After graduating with a Doctorate of Chiropractic, Dr. Butterfield and his family returned to his wife’s hometown of Albuquerque, embracing the incredible climate and beautiful culture of New Mexico. He is pleased to be a member of the New Mexico Chiropractic Association and the American Chiropractic Association.
Dr. Kelly von der Lieth, (but you can call her Dr. Kelly), grew up on a beef cattle farm in Rhinebeck, New York. She is a graduate of Parker University where she obtained her Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 2019.
From a young age, Dr. Kelly found herself with a passion for healthcare. Holistic wellness is what drove her to chiropractic. She loves being able to promote and nourish health and wellness as opposed to reacting to sickness and disease management. Education is key in Dr. Kelly’s mind, she enjoys sharing tips with her patients on how to stay healthy and active.
Over the course of her career, Dr. Kelly has learned to serve a range of patients from infants to grandparents, all with a range of ailments. Anything from sciatica, neck pain, upper and lower back pain, migraines, arthritis and more.
Dr. Kelly joined The Joint Chiropractic New Mexico team in March of 2019, and is thrilled to be serving her local Albuquerque community.
When Dr. Kelly is not working at The Joint Chiropractic, she enjoys spending time with nature. Including backpacking, hiking, camping, gardening and all things animals. In fact, she has a 125lb Great Pyrenees and a 65lb lab mix.
Dr. Kelly’s personal motto: Laughter is the best medicine - second only to chiropractic that is.
Dr. Mickey Mondragòn, is an Albuquerque, New Mexico native with a passion for helping others. He is a Parker University graduate, where he obtained his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 2019.
Dr. Mondragòn’s passion for chiropractic stems from a personal experience. He says,
“I chose to enter the chiropractic profession because my life was changed through receiving regular chiropractic adjustments. I was involved in a major car accident that left me with a broken arm and leg. I tried the traditional medical and physical therapy route for my injuries, and I just was not getting better. It was not until after I started receiving regular chiropractic adjustments that my life changed and I began to heal! My pain levels were greatly reduced to none only after a few visits, and before I knew it I was up and mobile using both my arm and leg with full range of motion. After I experienced these healing benefits of chiropractic, I decided that I want to help my community experience the same benefits and help change their lives.”
Chiropractic is so much more than what most people think; it goes well beyond the “snap” of the neck and “crack” of the back. A chiropractic adjustment to the spine impacts the areas of the brain that allow us to experience life. “Adjust the spine and you change the brain. Change someone’s brain and you change their life. It’s as simple as that.”
Over the course of his career, Dr. Mondragòn has learned to serve a range of patients from infants to grandparents, all with a range of ailments. Anything from sciatica, neck pain, upper and lower back pain, migraines, arthritis and more.
Dr. Mondragòn joined The Joint Chiropractic New Mexico team in July of 2019, and is thrilled to be serving his local community.
When Dr. Mondragòn is not working at The Joint Chiropractic Corrales, he enjoys hiking, camping and biking. As well as spending time with his loved ones and his dog, Fred.
