Dr. Quan Nguyen earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at the University of Madison Wisconsin in 2005 and his doctorate from the National University of Health Science in 2010. Before joining the team at The Joint, he previously practiced chiropractic in Naperville, Illinois and Shorewood, Wisconsin. According to Dr. Quan, the best part of working as a chiropractor is “informing and educating patients about their health and making people feel better”.
Dr. Quan and his wife Alyssa have one son and one daughter. He enjoys fishing, movies, video games and comedy during his free time. He may make you laugh with his own stand-up comedy while performing your adjustment! Dr. Quan says, “I knew chiropractic was my calling while studying medicine and realizing patients needed more than just pills. Patients need a healing touch.” The “friendly staff and fantastic patients” were what drew him to The Joint.
In Case You Didn’t Know:
If Dr. Quan could comprise the perfect dinner party, he would invite Chef Yang, Chef Morimoto, Master Chef Jiro and Rick Bayless to his home, so they could cook for him while they discuss food! Lastly, he says, “I have a pretty normal life. I don’t do crazy things and I am not too adventurous, so the coolest thing I have done is shovel snow in my shorts. It was really cool (cold)!”
Come say ‘hello’ to Dr. Quan Nguyen at The Joint clinic in Brookfield!
Dr. Christine Hoffmann joined The Joint Chiropractic family in 2019 with her arrival at the Brookfield clinic location. Her college career includes Marquette, University of Southern California, and National University of Health Sciences near Chicago. She earned bachelor’s degrees in engineering and human biology, a master’s in health administration, and a doctorate of chiropractic.
Dr. Hoffmann says the best thing about being in the chiropractic field is the level of personal care she can provide.
“I really get to know my patients and their families in this profession,” she says. “I often become a health coach and mentor to my patients, helping them achieve their health and wellness goals.
“I love to see a patient’s life completely turn around. They sometimes come to me initially with pain, but stay with me as they notice many other aspects of their lives improving!”
Before landing in Brookfield, Dr. Hoffmann worked in Chicago and the California cities of Newport Beach, Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, and Napa.
She and her husband have two children.
“I’m a fitness freak, so when I’m not working, I am at the gym or doing some sort of workout or activity with my kids,” she says. “I also love the outdoors -- hiking, running, biking, kayaking with myself -- or being with my family and friends. Nothing beats quiet time with the family. Card and board games are a favorite of the kids, and at the end of the day I like to enjoy a quiet glass of wine with my husband.”
Dr. Hoffmann’s involvement in athletics helped lead her down the chiropractic path. “I owe my gymnastics coaches, as a young child and adolescent, for driving home the idea of prevention and giving us the tools to avoid injury,” she says. “As I got older, I applied that knowledge from early on and combined it with my formal education to provide the most well-rounded care I can.”
She loves being the local chiropractor for Brookfield. “This is the happiest and most stress-free I’ve felt in my 15-year career as a chiropractor,” Dr. Hoffmann says. “Everyone I work with is great. It’s a harmonious atmosphere where we help people every day.”

Dr. Hoffmann says the one thing she always keeps in stock is carrots: “I eat a ton of different veggies every day, but I must have carrots for the quick convenience snack in those moments I might otherwise reach for a box or bag.”
Dr. Hoffmann has done a lot of really neat things in her life, “but one thing others find cool is my various television appearances,” she says. “I’ve appeared as a guest doctor on the nationally syndicated show ‘The Doctors,’ as well as spots as a spokesperson on infomercials for various back products.”
Dr. Katie Cole joined The Joint Chiropractic in 2019 when she became one of the local healthcare providers at the Brookfield clinic location. She earned a major in health sciences and a minor in psychology at Bradley University in Peoria, Ill., before going on to get a doctorate of chiropractic from National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, Ill.
Dr. Cole could not be happier serving her patients. “The thing I like best about being in this field is using chiropractic care to help people restore their health,” she says. “The other thing I love is working with people of all ages, from newborns to those in their 90s!”
She has worked throughout the Milwaukee area as well as private practice in Des Plaines, Ill.
When she’s not working or spending time with her husband, son and daughter -- or looking after dog Hazel and fish Buddy -- Dr. Cole enjoys cooking and baking, reading, running, and triathlons.
First-hand experience led Dr. Cole down the chiropractic path and confirmed her calling.
“I was in undergrad deciding what to pursue after graduation,” she says. “I had no idea what chiropractic was until I job shadowed a chiropractor in my hometown. I was also getting treated by her and noticed a significant decrease in my headaches and allergies. It was then I knew how chiropractic can truly improve someone’s health.”
She is grateful to be working in Brookfield: “The people I work with are amazing. The doctors and staff that I have worked alongside are extremely skilled.”

Dr. Cole says the one thing she always has stocked in her refrigerator is coffee creamer: “I love drinking my one or two cups a day with a tasteful almond milk creamer.”
If she could bring together any four people from history, she would include Jesus and mother Mary, Elizabeth Hamilton, and a particular Packers quarterback.
“Jesus because he is the son of God, and both human and God himself, and Mary because I would like to know what it was like raising Jesus and the love and pain she had for him in his last days on earth,” Dr. Cole says. “Elizabeth Hamilton’s husband, Alexander Hamilton, takes a lot of the spotlight, but she has done some amazing things in her lifetime and I would love to hear about it. And I would invite Aaron Rogers because, well, he’s Aaron Rogers.”
One of the things she is most proud of is that she has run the Chicago marathon. “I do not consider myself a runner, nor could I even run one mile before I began training,” Dr. Cole says. “But I pushed my self-doubts aside, and pushed my body more than I have done in the past. It was amazing having the one million spectators cheering me on. Crossing the finish line was an unreal feeling.”
Dr. Zach McKee joined the ranks of The Joint Chiropractic’s Brookfield clinic location’s family of healthcare providers in 2020. A graduate of Wisconsin-Madison and National University of Health Sciences, he earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a doctorate of chiropractic.
Because he is such a people person and enjoys caring for patients, it’s easy to understand why Dr. McKee enjoys being in the chiropractic field: “I love being social and interacting with individuals and families.”
That work previously included Milwaukee and Dothan, Ala.
He discovered that chiropractic was his calling while in college. “I knew I wanted to be a chiropractor when I was in undergraduate school at UW-Madison,” he says. “I shadowed a chiropractor and I fell in love with it when I got to see how much patients like it and how they improved with care.”
Dr. McKee is excited to be at the Brookfield location. “I’m really happy to be with The Joint because I really like its mission statement, to improve quality of life through routine and affordable chiropractic care,” he says.
When he’s not working, Dr. McKee likes spending time with his son, Atlas, and his significant other, Nicole; he enjoys exercise training, hiking, surfing, and watching sports.

Dr. McKee says the one thing he always keeps stocked in his kitchen is ice cream: ”It’s my favorite dessert.”
If he could bring together any group of people from history together for the dinner of his dreams, Dr. McKee would be sure to bust a gut. “I would enjoy hanging out with comedians Adam Sandler, Will Ferrell, the late Chris Farley, and Kevin Hart,” he says. “I would love to spend time with people who could make me laugh.”
The coolest thing he has ever done took place on the water. “I was kayaking,” he says, “and got up close to humpback whales.”
Dr. Johnson graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa in December of 1978. With over 40 years of experience, he has had the privilege of working with a wide variety of patients, ranging from infant to geriatric. Dr. Johnson is specialized in diversified adjustments, such as manipulation of the spine.
Steve Johnson DC joined The Joint Chiropractic in 2015 after being in solo practice since 1978. He retired from his practice in 2012. Dr. Johnson wanted to be a chiropractor as a teenager because he got relief from adjustments while playing football and wrestling in high school.
Since becoming a long term doctor at The Joint, Dr. Johnson has enjoyed seeing patients and getting them on a regimen. He says ”Getting patients to come in on a regular basis is much easier at The Joint with the prices being more reasonable than what the charges would be at a private practice.”
During Dr Johnson’s spare time, he enjoys shooting at the Waukesha Gun Curb on a weekly Basis. He is an avid shotgun enthusiast. He has been married to his wife Ruth for 32 years.
Dr. Michael Ross began working at the Brookfield clinic location as a valued member of The Joint Chiropractic family of local healthcare providers. He received his doctorate from Palmer College of Chiropractic, but before that attended University of Wisconsin-Madison.
“The thing I like most about being in this field is the philosophy of treating patients naturally,” he says. “Many of our patients are interested in natural healthcare so I enjoy educating them regarding chiropractic and health. It’s really gratifying.”
Before landing in Brookfield, Dr. Ross worked in Oshkosh, Waukesha, and Saukville.
A native Wisconsinite, he grew up in Port Washington. In his spare time, he enjoys lifting weights, watching football and basketball, and attending concerts with his wife of more than three decades. They have two adult children and a very adult dog, a 16-year-old Papillon named Belle.
First-hand experience drew Dr. Ross to this hands-on career. “As a college student, I sought the services of a chiropractor and was amazed at the results,” he says. “I liked the philosophy of chiropractic. I switched majors from nutritional science and decided to attend chiropractic college.”
He has never looked back, and is grateful to be working at the Brookfield clinic. “At the Joint, we offer a great product at a reasonable price,” he says. “The owners are great, and so are my co-workers.

Dr. Ross says his kitchen is always stocked with the ingredients to make “a green smoothie containing broccoli, kale, and spinach. It is very nutritious and I enjoy drinking vegetables.”
If he could bring together any four figures from history for the dinner party of his dreams, Dr. Ross would send invitations to Nobel Prize-winning physicist Albert Einstein, founding father Benjamin Franklin, baseball color barrier pioneer Jackie Robinson, and inventor Nikola Tesla: “These are all historical figures who have intrigued me and made a mark on mankind.”
When it comes to the coolest thing Dr. Ross has experienced, it came as a track and field fan and father. “I watched my son, Evan, win the 1,600-meter Wisconsin Division 1 State Championship in 2009 with a time of 4 minutes 11 seconds,” he says. “It was an extremely proud moment for me.”
Dr. Eric Smith became part of The Joint Chiropractic’s team of local healthcare providers in 2021 when he began serving residents in the Brookfield area, where he continues doing work he finds so rewarding.
“The thing I like most about being in the chiropractic field is being able to directly influence a patient’s health,” he says. “It’s so gratifying to help people live full lives.”
Dr. Smith worked previously in St. Louis and Chicago. He has pet fish, and in his spare time has a podcast; he also enjoys bodybuilding and self-development.
A native of Michigan and product of the midwest, he earned a doctorate from Logan University in Chesterfield, Mo.
His first-hand experience led him to this point, and he knows he is where he belongs, doing the things he needs to do. “Receiving chiropractic care myself changed my life, health, and sense of well-being,” he says. “When I first was introduced to chiropractic care, I had terrible headaches, mid back pain, and pain in my chest. Through adjustments and proper stretching, I was able to kick the medications I was on, my sleep apnea went away, and I felt a lot more healthy than I had in years.”
In Case You Didn’t Know
One of the things that Dr. Smith always keeps stocked in his refrigerator is steak: “Beef is a staple in my diet.”
If he could bring together any four individuals from history, he would love to sit down with self-help guru Tony Robbins, entrepreneur/author Jim Rohn, President Ronald Reagan, and entertainer Robin Williams. “These gentlemen have had a profound impact on my mindset, goals, and drive,” he says.
Dr. Smith says the coolest thing he has ever done involved a big move that he made: “I moved to Chicago to buy my own practice in Sears Tower, which allowed me to serve in an iconic building while learning to enjoy the city.”
