Dr. Bree Barrett joined The Joint Chiropractic in 2016 and returned to the Midtown and East Atlanta locations in 2019. She graduated Cum Laude from Loyola University-New Orleans with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. From there she graduated Magna Cum Laude from Life University with her doctorate in chiropractic.
“The best thing about being in the chiropractic field is the ability to help patients experience health and wellness without drugs and surgery,” she says. “The other thing that is so gratifying is the relationship we build with patients and supporting them through life’s ups and downs.”
Dr. Bree, as she prefers her patients call her, has worked in Marietta and Acworth, as well as Atlanta. A product of South Louisiana, she enjoys running 5K and 10K races, along with cooking and reading when she’s not working or spending time with her two daughters and son.
She pursued chiropractic because she saw the failings of the status quo. “My aunt was battling multiple sclerosis and breast cancer, and traditional medicine was not healing,” she says. “If anything, the MS drugs created the breast cancer. Chiropractic care was able to relieve some of the pain caused by MS and help improve my aunt’s quality of life.” Dr. Bree is excited to be working at the Midtown and East Atlanta locations. “I love working with this staff,” she says. “I feel like I am part of a cohesive team that provides the best quality care available.”
In Case You Didn’t Know
Dr. Bree says the one thing she always has stocked in her refrigerator is vanilla-flavored almond milk: “It’s my daughter’s favorite.”
Her dream dinner would include a table that has Oprah Winfrey, U2 singer Bono, entertainer Chelsea Handler, and Chef Emeril Lagasse. “Oprah is a legend and inspiration, and Chelsea Handler is hilarious,” Dr. Bree says. “U2 is my favorite band and I admire Bono’s humanitarian work, and Chef Emeril is a fantastic chef who loves New Orleans as much as I do.”
The coolest thing Dr. Bree has done, she says, took place while on vacation. “I went to China and walked the Great Wall of China.”
Dr. Boyd graduated with honors from Texas Chiropractic College, after obtaining his bachelor's degree in Biology, with a minor in Chemistry from Texas Southern University. He was introduced to Chiropractic after his friend was injured and disabled for months due to a car accident. Boyd practiced in Houston until hisailing father, a General Practitioner in Nigeria, persuaded him to complete a medical diploma to assume responsibility of his father's clinic. He obtained his medical degree from St. Mathews University School of Medicine, located in Oviedo, Florida. He then practiced pain medicine as a specialty, utilizing Prolotherapy and Platelets Rich Plasma Injections (PRP) to aleviate pain, in Nigeria for 5 years. Dr. Boyd still monitors this fully operational clinic in Nigeria and travels there to assist with patients whenever he has a chance. With both a medical and chiropractic background, he is a great asset. For over 10 years, Dr. Boyd has maintained the reputation of being a competent and careful Chiropractor.
Dr. Kevin Stalls joined the family of local healthcare providers with The Joint Chiropractic in 2019 with his arrival at the East Atlanta clinic location. Dr. Stalls -- you can also call him Dr. Kevin -- graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in theater arts from Colorado State University before earning a doctorate of chiropractic from Texas Chiropractic College.
“The thing I like most about being in this field is that chiropractic really does help people feel better,” Dr. Stalls says. “I like the opportunity to be a calming and caring presence in someone else’s life.”
Dr. Stalls is no stranger to Atlanta professionally, but as a self-described military brat, he is also no stranger to Texas, Virginia, South Carolina, South Dakota, and Iceland.
When he’s not working or spending time with his family, which includes two daughters, a Chihuahua named Rothko, and a wife he describes as “the absolute best,” Dr. Stalls enjoys cooking.
Although he thinks his true calling is as an actor and writer, Dr. Stalls knew he had found his purpose at the very beginning of his career. “I was finally at clinic at TCC and I started treating someone with severe back pain, as well as PTSD, and I was able to help him so much in life,” he says. “I knew then that I was going to have a major positive impact on the lives of many people as a chiropractor.”
He could not be happier that he is now having a major positive impact on his current patients.
“I really like working at East Atlanta because I really feel like a part of the community,” Dr. Stalls says, “and I fit right in because it’s a very laid back group of people who live here.”

One of the things that’s always stocked in Dr. Stalls’ refrigerator is butter. “Butter,” he says, “makes everything better.”
If Dr. Stalls could bring together any four characters from history for the dinner party of his dreams, he would include two actors, a motivational speaker, and a talk show host. “Jack Lemmon is my all-time favorite actor, and Hugh Jackman is a versatile actor and all-around good guy,” he says. “Tony Robbins is unique, a powerful force of nature full of positive energy, and Ellen DeGeneres is a great light of love and acceptance -- and she’s hilarious.”
Dr. Stalls says one of the coolest things he has ever experienced was attending a performance at the the magic bar in Snowmass, Colo., before it closed down: “One of the best magicians in the world blew my mind right in front of me as I drank a Labatt Bleue in the beautiful snowy Rockies.”
Dr. Habib Nasajpour joined The Joint Chiropractic in 2015 as a patient before joining the family in 2017 as one of its chiropractors. A graduate of University of Florida with a bachelor’s of science degree in microbiology, he received his doctorate from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Port Orange, Florida in 2011.
Dr. Habib says the greatest satisfaction he gets from being in the chiropractic field “is helping the community move better and working with great people.”
In his spare time, Dr. Habib enjoys staying active through cycling, running and yoga. He also enjoys concerts and traveling.
Through his experience as a doctor of chiropractic, Dr. Habib has seen many patients, many situations, and he knows he answered the call of his life based on what he’s personally seen: “Chiropractic fixes grumpy.”
Dr. Chris Jerry became part of The Joint Chiropractic’s team of local healthcare providers in 2021 when he began serving residents in the Atlanta area, where he continues doing the work he finds so rewarding.
The thing he appreciates most about being in the chiropractic field is “the ability to heal people with just your hands, a few instruments, and your knowledge of anatomy and physiology,” he says. “I love being able to build a relationship with my patients.”
Dr. Jerry was raised in Lawrenceville and worked previously in Flowery Branch. In his spare time he enjoys the outdoors, such as kayaking and hiking with his two dogs, an American Staffordshire terrier/husky mix named Annie Oakley, and a rat terrier named Buffalo Bill. He also is a fan and attends matches of the Atlanta United.
He graduated from Claremont (Calif.) McKenna College, where he got a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience; he then went to Life University in Marietta to get his doctorate of chiropractic.
“I toured my first chiropractic school and they spoke a lot about the science, largely the neuroscience, of chiropractic,” Dr. Jerry says. “That is what led me down the path to learn more about it, and almost everything I learned pointed in the direction of ‘Oh, this is the exact stuff I want to study and how I want to practice.’”

Dr. Jerry says cheese sticks are the one thing he always has at the ready: “They are the perfect snack.”
If he could sit down with anyone from history for his ideal dinner party, he would include actress Awkwafina, former baseball player Nick Swisher, astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, and legendary musician Louis Armstrong. “Awkwafina seems very down to earth and entertaining, and Swisher seems like one of the most genuinely happy people I have seen,” Dr. Jerry says. “Neil deGrasse Tyson is highly intellectual but seems like he could have a really good time, and it would be really cool to get Louis Armstrong’s perspective of music and culture from a different era.”
He says the most amazing event in his life was a two-month trip across Europe that featured London, Paris, Rome, and Berlin: “It was my first time outside of North America and it was really cool to see vastly different cultures and to learn the deep history of those cities.’
Dr. Gavin Black became part of The Joint Chiropractic’s team of local healthcare providers in 2021 when he began serving residents in Atlanta doing the work he finds so gratifying.
“It’s rewarding to educate and help patients through their health journey,” he says.
Dr. Black grew up in Matthews, N.C., and loves the fact that he’s not sitting at a desk all day. In his spare time he likes exercise of any type, and is a fan of football, basketball, and Netflix.
A graduate of Appalachian State University in Boone, N.C., he earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise science before getting a doctorate of chiropractic from Life University in Marietta.
Dr. Black learned first-hand about the benefits of chiropractic, which is why he is so passionate about it. “I had bulging discs throughout high school while playing sports,” he says. “I went to a chiropractor and was feeling better and seeing improvement within the first couple of visits.”
In Case You Didn’t Know
Dr Black says the one thing he always keeps stocked in his kitchen is hot sauce: “Everyone needs a little spice in their life.”
The coolest experience of Dr. Black’s life took place when he visited Peru for a chiropractic mission trip. “It allowed me to hone my skills as a chiropractor, serve the amazing people of Arequipa, while also visiting Machu Picchu and immersing myself in the culture,” he says.
