Dr. Stan Setzer received his Bachelors in Business from the University of North Carolina Asheville. He then chose Sherman College to complete his Doctoral Studies and officially became a Chiropractor in 2016. It is his mission to bring Chiropractic to as many people as possible and demonstrate the power of the human body to heal itself when the nervous system is clear of interference.
Dr. Stan joined our team of Asheville chiropractors in 2016. Originally from Newton, NC he moved to Asheville to attend undergraduate college and quickly fell in love with the mountains and the city. Not too long after he fell in love again this time with his now wife Melissa. Together they have four children Michael, Mathew, Melody and Grayson.
In addition to his traditional education Dr. Stan has been training in Heishin Ryu Karate for over 15 years and has earned the rank of 3rd Dan (3rd degree black belt), as well as a 1st Dan (1st degree black belt) in Toyama Ryu Iaido, a style of Japanese Sword. He has found great satisfaction over the years teaching students of all ages how to face their fears and build confidence in their ability to protect themselves.
He believes that life should be a process of constant improvement and that everyday a person should work to better some aspect of themselves, no matter how small the improvement. Through striving to better ourselves we should also work to better the communities in which we live and offer a helping hand where needed. He further continues to educate those who come to him for chiropractic care in ways to improve the function of their bodies and how to protect themselves from disease.
Dr. Christina Wocial graduated from Life University in the spring of 2015. After graduation she worked in New York City for over a year, practicing Chiropractic Biophysics and the Gonstead Technique. Her love for the mountains brought her and her fiancé to Western North Carolina. They are both avid outdoor enthusiasts, and love hiking, kayaking, four wheeling, target shooting, and spending time on their farm.
Dr. Ray Chavez graduated in April of 1997 from Los Angeles College of Chiropractic, now known as Southern California University of Health Science’s. Shortly after graduation he moved to Phoenix, AZ where he practiced for 10 years.
Towards the end of his 10 years in Arizona, Dr. Chavez and his family visited western North Carolina and fell in love. He's been practicing in North Carolina now for 10 years and looks forward to many more!
