Meet The Doctors

Dr. Wesley Campbell, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Covington

Dr. Wesley Lloyd Campbell II joined the family of healthcare providers for The Joint Chiropractic in 2019. A graduate of University of Virginia with a degree in anthropology, he graduated cum laude from Life University, where he earned his doctorate of chiropractic and his masters in sports chiropractic.

“The thing I like most about being in the chiropractic field is seeing people walk away from an adjustment feeling better and being able to trust their bodies more than when they walked in,” he says. “I also like being able to educate patients about an avenue to achieve optimal health that is often overlooked and misunderstood.” Dr. Campbell saw first-hand the impact of chiropractic and it led him down the path to providing personal healthcare naturally.

“A chiropractor helped my mother recover from a stroke to restore the function in her right arm and leg,” he says. “I was so intrigued at how this could work that I shadowed the chiropractor and was able to see how he could regularly help people gain their function and lives back, and I knew that this was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.”

A product of Queens, N.Y., in his spare time Dr. Campbell enjoys attending sporting events and concerts, as well as playing basketball.

“There is so much opportunity in Covington because chiropractic is still pretty scarce,” he says. “There are so many people to help reach their health goals and educate about maintaining a healthy lifestyle.”

In Case You Didn’t Know

Dr. Campbell says the one thing that he always keeps stocked in his refrigerator is a jar pickles. “It’s the perfect snack,” he says.

If he could bring together any four people from history for the dinner party of his dreams, Dr. Campbell would include a fascinating group: Jesus Christ, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., comedian Dave Chapelle, and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres. “The four of them together would be a great intellectual and entertaining conversation,” he says.

As for Dr. Campbell’s most interesting experience, “The coolest thing I’ve ever done was climbing Dunn’s River Falls in Ocho Rios, Jamaica,” he says. “It was the coolest because of the environment and wasn’t like anything I’ve ever done before.”

Dr. John Parlier, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Covington

Dr. Parlier received his Bachelors of Arts in Economics from the University of Maryland and graduated Magna Cum Laude with his Doctorate of Chiropractic from Life University.

Introduced to chiropractic over 20 years ago, Dr. Parlier knows the benefits of chiropractic care first hand. He spent his youth riding horses and working on a farm. Along with many falls, as well as the inherent stresses on his body that went with riding, his back and knees were constantly in pain. At the age of 25, he went to work for an equine chiropractor in Maryland. One day, that Chiropractor noticed Dr. John limping and regularly complaining about his back pain. She adjusted him several times over a week at the barn, and his pains started to go away. After that, he continued with regular care at her office.

Dr. Parlier is known and respected for the thorough and comprehensive examination and diagnosis that he provides to each patient.

In his spare time, Dr Parlier enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife and his 4 children and their weiner dog, Titus.

Dr. Ryan Paramo, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Covington

Dr. Ryan Paramo, DC was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. He attended Oakland University in Rochester Hills, Michigan. He earned his bachelor’s degree in biology. Dr. Paramo then received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Life University in Marietta, Georgia. He graduated Summa Cum Laude and was an active member in chiropractic neurology and sports rehabilitation. Dr. Paramo practiced in Denver, Colorado specializing in auto accident and personal injury recovery. He mainly treated whiplash, low back pain and migraines with manual manipulations, cold laser, all-natural supplements and acupuncture.

Dr. Paramo believes that routine chiropractic care allows anyone regardless of limitations to achieve their optimum health goals and live their best life by having a proper functioning nervous system. Dr. Paramo joined The Joint team in Atlanta December 2018 to accomplish these goals with you.

Dr. Paramo enjoys lifting weights and playing basketball at LA fitness. He likes to talk sports and complain about his Detroit teams. Dr. Paramo and his fiancé Claire enjoy exploring Atlanta and bike riding around the city. He loves cooking, reading and playing with his two dogs Jango and Mowgli. Dr. Paramo is a huge fan of coffee and must have one every morning. Dr. Paramo being a huge fan of sports would be honored to be in the presence of Kobe Bryant, Barry Sanders, John Beilein and the legendary Dan Patrick for an ultimate dinner party. The most rewarding thing he has done is travel to El Salvador and provide chiropractic care to an underprivileged community that do not have access to traditional medicine or any alternative form of health care.

Dr. Paramo believes in chiropractic care because it helped him recover from a gruesome hit in high school that almost ended his high school and college lacrosse career. With the aid of chiropractic, he was able to avoid long term chronic issues and it inspired him to pursue down the career path that helped him the most over what traditional medicine could not offer.

Dr. Rebecca Saunders, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Covington

Dr. Rebecca Saunders became part of The Joint Chiropractic’s team of local healthcare providers in 2022 when she began serving residents in the Atlanta area, where she does the work she finds so rewarding.

“The best thing about being in the chiropractic field is seeing a patient’s face light up after an adjustment and they realize their pain is gone,” she says. “I love being part of the patient’s health journey.”

Dr. Rebecca, as she is known to those patients, grew up in Macon and attended Gordon State College, where she received a bachelor’s degree in biology. She then earned her doctorate from Life University in Marietta, graduating with honors Magna Cum Laude.

Her husband, Isaac, is a 6-foot-7 Twitch streamer and they share a chow chow named Bear and a cat named Samus. Dr. Rebecca loves reading, hiking, and kickboxing.

“After seeing my mom suffer for years, I knew I wanted to help people like her get better,” she says. “I was inspired by my mom’s health journey as she turned to natural ways to heal her body. I heard about chiropractic at Life University’s open house weekend, and after listening to the testimonies of how chiropractic can facilitate healing, I knew this was the path for me.”

In Case You Didn’t Know

If she could bring together any four people from history for her ideal dinner party, Dr. Rebecca would break bread with Jim Carrey “because he’s Jim Carrey, Ricky Gervais because he would inevitably offend everyone at the party, Hugh Jackman because he would break into song and dance, and Ryan Reynolds, who would narrate the entire evening.”

One of the best stories Dr. Rebecca could tell her guests would be “that time I conquered the most dangerous hike in Georgia, Yonah Mountain.”

The one thing she always keeps in her refrigerator is oat milk creamer: “It makes drinking coffee a happier experience.”

Dr. Thalia Gonzalez, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Covington

Dr. Thalia Gonzalez became part of The Joint Chiropractic’s team of local healthcare providers in 2022 when she began serving residents in the Covington area, where she continues doing the work she finds so rewarding.

“The thing I love most about being in the chiropractic field is being able to care for those who have lost hope in their health and life,” she says. “The other thing that’s gratifying is caring for expecting mothers and then seeing the baby after birth, knowing that every chiropractic adjustment not only affects the health of the mother but also the baby to prepare them for a life of health and vitality.”

Dr. Gonzalez grew up in Dacula and worked previously in Lilburn. She married her high school sweetheart and they have four dogs. She likes reading in her spare time, as well as hiking and going to the beach.

She earned her doctorate in chiropractic at Sherman College of Chiropractic after getting her bachelor’s degrees in biology and psychology from Life University in Marietta.

It was an experience with her family that led her to a chiropractic path. “My mother was suffering from headaches and neck pain” she says. “They were so debilitating that she quit her job and was a candidate for surgery. After starting chiropractic care, she was back to living her life to the fullest, and that’s when I knew that chiropractic was powerful and that I had to be part of it.”

In Case You Didn’t Know

If she could bring together any four people from history for her ideal dinner party, Dr. Gonzalez would bring together Robin Williams, Albert Einstein, singer Selena Quintanilla, and Dr. Rev. Martin Luther King jr. “Robin Williams is a fantastic actor and comedian, I love his movies, and he has a fantastic energy about him, and Einstein was one of the greatest minds of all-time,” she says. “Selena was my favorite singer when I was a child; she was very successful at a young age and very passionate about her career, a strong Latina idol. Martin Luther King was a visionary in terms of changing the future for others.”

She says her beach wedding was the coolest experience of her life: “It was just different but I had the opportunity to share that special moment with my whole family, which had not been together for years.”

The item she always keeps stocked in her refrigerator is iced coffee. “It’s like my morning sweet to start the morning right,” she says. “It’s pretty much my self-care in the morning.”

Dr. Gavin Black, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Covington

Dr. Gavin Black grew up in Matthews, NC outside of Charlotte. After completing his bachelor’s degree at Appalachian State University, he moved to Atlanta, GA to expand his education. He received his Doctor of Chiropractic from Life University in 2021.

His career began with The Joint Chiropractic after graduation in GA and moved to Tucson in the summer of 2022.

Dr. Gavin discovered chiropractic after injuring his back playing football in high school. He had great results and decided he wanted to help others heal from their injuries.

Outside of the office, Dr. Gavin enjoys weightlifting, hiking, basketball and trying all types of new foods.

Dr. Mike Nunez, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Covington

Dr. Mike Nunez became part of The Joint Chiropractic’s team of local healthcare providers in 2019 when he began serving residents in the Atlanta area, where he continues doing the work he finds so gratifying.

“The best thing about being in the chiropractic field is the ability to help others with a holistic paradigm,” he says. “It’s rewarding to help others understand that the body is a self-healing organism and to help patients reach their full potential.”

Dr. Mike, as his patients call him, is a product of Southern California and worked previously in the San Gabriel Valley and Huntington Beach. It was in SoCal where his Uncle Eddie “taught me about the holistic approach to living a balanced life.”

Dr. Mike’s wife is from Laos, has a large family, and loves to cook. They have a son and daughter, and enjoy camping and “getting outside to enjoy the nature that is so abundant here in Georgia.”

He attended Mt. San Antonio College, and New College in Whittier, Calif., and got a degree in health science before getting a doctorate from Life Chiropractic College West.

“I was visiting with my uncle in San Diego when he introduced me to chiropractic when I was 17 years old and I have never been the same,” Dr. Mike says. “It was not until I reached Life College that I understood the validation of my own experience with the healing arts.

“Growing up, there are so many emotional experiences that can be overwhelming, and chiropractic helped me deal with the stress of change.”

In Case You Didn’t Know

Dr. Mike says there’s one condiment that he always keeps stocked in his kitchen: “Hot sauce is always ready to be used on my wife’s great cooking.”

One of the greatest experiences of Dr. Mike’s life was a visit to the nation’s capital, where he visited the Lincoln Memorial. “It showed me the power of someone that never gives up even though you fail once or twice,” he says.

The last book that Dr. Mike read was The Way of the Peaceful Warrior by Dan Millman. “It was a great inspiration that helped me see things that were deeper in meaning about everyone we meet: teachers,” he says.

If you’re ever looking for advice from Dr. Mike, it’s pretty simple: Don’t give up. “We meet people along our journey who may not be what we expect,” he says, “but our higher source is always giving us a way out.”
