OUR SERVICES
Chiropractic Care Personalized For Every Body
A Natural Approach To Drug-free Pain Relief
Every body is different, and so is every path to feeling better. At The Joint Chiropractic, we take a
personalized, hands-on approach to care that supports your lifestyle and health goals without the use of
drugs or invasive treatments.
From easing pain and improving mobility to supporting long-term wellness, our licensed chiropractors
provide natural care designed to help you move better and live more fully. Whether you’re recovering from
an injury, navigating pregnancy, or staying proactive about your health, we’re here for every age and
stage.
Chiropractic care is a noninvasive, drug-free approach to managing discomfort and supporting mobility.
Adjustments focus on the root cause of pain and tension, helping your body function and heal the way it
was designed to. Many people choose chiropractic as part of their long-term wellness routine. For some, it
may even serve as an alternative to more invasive treatments.
We care for people of all ages and activity levels. Whether you’re active, expecting, recovering, or
maintaining your routine, chiropractic adjustments may help you move more comfortably and feel more like
yourself.
Targeted, hands-on pressure aims to realign joints, reduce nerve interference, and relieve
tension. This
helps improve mobility and allows the body to function more efficiently. Chiropractic at its
core, this
technique supports long-term wellness by addressing the root causes of pain and imbalance. For
many
patients, it may offer a path to relief without relying on medication or invasive procedures.
Who it’s for Athletes and Weekend Warriors, Office Workers, After an
Accident
We use gentle chiropractic adjustments for the shoulders, wrists, knees, and other extremity
joints to
support proper alignment, posture, and whole-body function. By improving joint motion and
reducing tension,
these adjustments may help ease discomfort, improve mobility, and promote better movement
patterns. For
patients recovering from minor injuries as a result of an accident or managing chronic joint
issues,
chiropractic care can be a supportive tool as they navigate next steps with their broader care
team,
including physical therapists, orthopedists, or primary care providers.
Who it’s for Children, Older Adults, Individuals Recovering from Injuries, Any
Needing a More Gentle Adjustment
Activator-assisted
adjustments
use a small handheld instrument to deliver gentle, targeted pressure to specific areas of the
spine or
joints. This low-force technique is ideal for those who need a more delicate approach,
including young
children, older adults, and individuals recovering from injuries. The activator tool helps
improve spinal
alignment, reduce nerve interference, and support better mobility without the need for
twisting or
high-impact movements. It’s a widely used method that offers precise care while supporting
comfort,
safety, and healing.
Who it’s for Office Workers, Workers in Physically Demanding Roles, Children
& Teens
Posture affects everything from how you move to how you feel. During a postural and movement
assessment, we observe how you sit, stand, walk, and perform everyday motions to identify
imbalances, compensations, or strain patterns. These assessments are especially helpful for
people who spend long hours at a desk, work in physically demanding environments, or are still
growing and developing, such as children and teens. By understanding your movement habits, we
can recommend simple changes to your posture, workspace, or daily routine. These changes may
help reduce tension, improve mobility, and prevent future discomfort. Small adjustments can lead
to meaningful improvements in how your body functions and feels each day.
Who it’s for Office Workers, Caregivers, Seniors
Small, intentional changes in your daily habits can have a lasting impact on your comfort and
mobility. We
offer personalized guidance to help you support your spine and joints at home, at work, and
during your
regular routines. Whether you sit at a desk, lift and carry throughout the day, or are
navigating the
physical changes that come with age, we focus on practical strategies you can implement right
away. From
adjusting your workstation setup to improving your sleep posture or lifting techniques, our
ergonomic and
lifestyle recommendations are designed to reduce strain, prevent recurring issues, and help you
feel better
every day.
Who it’s for Children & Teens
Children grow fast, and their spines grow right along with them. Our pediatric and family care
uses gentle,
age-appropriate techniques to support healthy spinal alignment and nervous system function
throughout every
stage of childhood. From newborns experiencing colic or infant reflux to toddlers learning to
walk and
school-aged children dealing with growing pains, ear infections, or tech neck, we tailor our
care to meet
your child’s unique needs. For teens balancing sports, screen time, and stress, chiropractic
care can help
support better posture, mobility, and comfort. Our goal is to help your child move, grow, and
thrive with
greater confidence while giving parents peace of mind.
Pregnancy brings rapid physical changes that can lead to joint discomfort, lower back pain, and
postural
shifts. Our doctors offer gentle chiropractic care designed to support comfort, spinal
alignment, and
overall mobility throughout pregnancy. Regular care during this time may help reduce tension,
ease strain on
joints and muscles, and promote better function as your body adapts to each stage of pregnancy.

The North Asheville clinic location is proud that Dr. Ken Hicks joined its team in 2022 to provide important healthcare services to the local community.
“I always loved helping others and working at The Joint gives me the opportunity to do this every day,” he says. “I love that the job is physical -- as opposed to a desk job -- because it helps keep me healthy.”
Dr. Hicks worked previously in Roswell, Ga., Blacksburg, Va., Mannington, W.V., and Chattanooga and Johnson City, Tenn. Born in Roswell, he moved to North Carolina while in middle school.
He and his wife have “a sweet and silly black Lab that just seems to love everyone.” His hobbies include hiking and photography.
Dr. Hicks earned his doctorate of chiropractic from Life University in Marietta, Ga., after getting his bachelor’s in psychology at Appalachian State in Boone.
“After suffering from gastrointestinal issues for years with no good answers or solutions from the medical community, I saw a chiropractor and my chronic issue resolved itself in a matter of weeks,” he says. “This piqued my interest in becoming a chiropractor.”
It has led him to some great professional moments, including one early in his career. “I had a patient who could not lay down or she would throw up,” Dr. Hicks says. “I wasn’t sure what to do, so I propped up a table against the wall and had her lean on it so I could adjust her. It worked well and she greatly appreciated it. After a few weeks of adjusting her this way, she was able to lay on a regular table for her adjustments. She credited this to her chiropractic care.”
In Case You Didn’t Know
Dr. Hicks’ ideal dinner party would include comedians Steve Martin, Ellen DeGeneres, Robin Williams, and Kevin Hart “because laughter lightens our load.”
One of his most amazing adventures involved him and two wheels. “I took an off-road solo motorcycle trip across the U.S. called the TransAmerica trail,” Dr. Hicks says. “It added to my confidence regarding handling difficult situations by myself.” Perhaps that’s why the title of his biography would be called Little Adventures.
He always keeps peanut butter stocked in his refrigerator: “It’s an easy go-to snack I’ve enjoyed since I was a kid.”
A book that has been influential to Dr. Hicks was written by Victor E. Frankl titled Man’s Search for Meaning. “It showed me what we’re all capable of doing,” he says.

Dr. Kirsten West joined The Joint Chiropractic in 2021 when she became part of the team at the South Asheville clinic, where she does the rewarding work of helping people as their local healthcare provider.
“The best thing about being in the chiropractic field is helping people improve their quality of life naturally,” she says. “It’s gratifying to see people get hope that they can feel better.” Raised in the foothills around Wilkesboro, Dr. West grew up around “people who had no idea natural healthcare options were available.”
She earned her doctorate from Logan College of Chiropractic in Chesterfield, Mo., after getting a bachelor of science degree at North Carolina State. She worked previously in Winston-Salem, and Greenville, S.C.
In her spare time, Dr. West enjoys hiking, kayaking, and visiting breweries, and spending time with her Labrador mix, Chance..
She knew chiropractic was her calling when, as an athlete, chiropractors helped her heal from multiple injuries. It was further validated as a professional when she helped patients with ear infections simply by using the chiropractic adjustment. “Kids not having to get tubes in their ears is an awesome feeling,” she says.
In Case You Didn’t Know
Dr. West says her perfect dinner party would include singer Prince, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, and entertainers Betty White and Ellen DeGeneres.
She is a big fan of author Brene Brown: “She’s a great motivational writer and speaker.”
The one thing that Dr. West always keeps stocked in her refrigerator is hot sauce. “Breakfast,” she says, “is so much better with it.”

I grew up mainly in Chicago, except for 5 years between ages 4 and 9, I lived in Peru when my father worked for our church mission. I got my Bachelor's with a minor in Chemistry at Northern Arizona University. I joined The Joint in August 2016. What I love about Chiropractic is the incredible help you can give a patient. With no I'll side effects. I especially love adjusting children (no preconceived notions).
In my spare time I love being with my family. My wife's name is Carrie. We have 4 wonderful kids and 3 great dogs (a great Pyrenees, a toy poodle and a lab mix).

Dr. Daniel Lenhart joined The Joint Chiropractic in 2024 when he became part of the
team at the South Asheville clinic, where he does the rewarding work of helping people
as their local healthcare provider.
“Whether it is seeing patients for wellness care or more serious issues, I enjoy helping
people improve and maintain their health utilizing the power of their own body,” he says.
“My colleagues are another reason I enjoy the field of chiropractic so much. I appreciate
the many conversations and the constant learning.”
Dr. Daniel, as his patients call him, grew up in Jacksonville, Florida. “It wasn't until I
joined the Army and sustained a back injury while deployed to Iraq that I realized the
career path I would pursue,” he says.
He met his wife, Erin, in Hawaii where she attended the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
“She is the most amazing mother to our three children,” he says. “The love and support
she provides her family is her greatest quality.”
They are the parents of two girls and one boy. “My daughters compete in gymnastics
and it was an absolute blessing to keep them adjusted and watch them compete,” he
says.
The family has 12 chickens, two blue nose American pitbulls named Ash and Frankie,
and a cat named Schucks.
In addition to spending time with his family, when Dr. Daniel isn’t working, he enjoys
boating, recreational shooting, and attending his children's sporting events.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Central Michigan University and a
Doctorate at Sherman College of Chiropractic in Boiling Springs.
The most memorable experience he ever had as a chiropractor was giving his son an
adjustment just minutes after his birth.
In Case You Didn’t Know
Dr. Daniel always keeps avocados on hand.
If he could plan the ideal dinner party including four famous guests, Dr. Daniel would
invite:
George Washington - “It would be incredible to sit with the first president and talk
about the vision for our wonderful country, including the lessons learned.”
Mickey Mantle - “Although I grew up in the South I am a Yankees fan, and most
importantly, a Mickey Mantle fan. What an honor it would be to talk about his
accomplishments and contributions to the game of baseball.”
Carroll Shelby - “Since childhood I have had an appreciation for cars, and I find Ford’s
racing history and accomplishments fascinating. With the contributions of designer and
race car driver Carroll Shelby and the influence he had on Ford’s racing history, I can't
think of a better person to chat with about the subject.”
Neil Armstrong - “I remember growing up in Florida watching the space shuttle
launches from my house and I have a fascination with everything space related. What
an honor it would be to chat with a man who’s been to the moon and listen to the stories
he tells.”
The most memorable experience of Dr. Daniel’s life was the birth of his children. “It was
at those moments that I realized my potential for love,” he says.
His favorite book is Founding Fathers.
If Dr. Daniel wrote an autobiography, it would be entitled A Curvy Road.
The best advice he’s ever received is attributed to Thomas Jefferson: “Do you want to
know who you are? Don't ask. Act! Action will delineate and define you.”
The best advice he could give others is: “Life is short and tomorrow is not guaranteed.
Throw caution to the wind and chase your dreams!”

Dr. Teena Rowe became part of The Joint Chiropractic’s team of local healthcare providers in 2022 when she began serving residents in the Asheville area, where she continues doing the work she finds so rewarding.
“The best thing about being in the chiropractic field is being able to give people a better quality of life,” she says. I love putting a smile on people’s faces. I also love promoting health in a holistic way because it can eliminate the amount of toxins we put in our body.”
Dr. Teena, as her patients know her, grew up in Elkhorn City, Ky., but began working in
Asheville after getting her doctorate from Sherman College of Chiropractic in Boiling Springs, S.C. She previously earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of Pikeville in Kentucky.
“My first-ever adjustment was when I started chiropractic school,” she says. “Chiropractic was just something that felt right to me once I started studying it. Through chiropractic, I have helped two-day-old babies with colic, ear infections, constipation, et cetera. I have helped mothers get their baby to turn in the womb to avoid being breeched. I have helped people experiencing urinary incontinence. The options are endless with chiropractic. Each and every day, we get to help people with their quality of life no matter the situation.”
When she’s not working, Dr. Teena spends time with her Chihuahuas, Theodore and Eleanor. She also likes being outside and wants to travel the world.

If she could bring together any four people from history for her ideal dinner party, she would include Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor, and John Deacon. “I’m a Queen fan,” she says.
Her most amazing experience is skydiving. “As crazy as it sounds, it gave me a completely different outlook on life -- in a good way,” she says.
As a member of the Asheville community, Dr. Teena naturally gravitates toward exploring the area’s various craft beers. “When in Rome,” she says.

Dr. Cory Noll joined The Joint Chiropractic in 2025 and currently serves patients in the Asheville clinic, where he brings more than two decades of experience and a deep passion for natural healing to the local community.
“The best part of being in the chiropractic field is seeing people reclaim their quality of life—often from chronic health conditions—by restoring the brain, nervous system, and body function through chiropractic care,” he says. “When we access the body’s inborn healing power, it brings about incredible vitality without the use of drugs or surgery.”
Originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Dr. Cory earned his undergraduate degree in Human Biology at the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay in 1988. He went on to graduate magna cum laude and as a Presidential Scholar from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 2000. His chiropractic career has taken him across the country, with professional experience in Portland and Woodburn, Oregon; Morehead City, North Carolina; Longview, Washington; and now Asheville, North Carolina.
In his free time, Dr. Cory enjoys hiking, music, and cooking. He is the proud father of two daughters and always keeps Gerolsteiner sparkling mineral water stocked in the fridge— “I like the taste and it keeps me hydrated,” he says.
In Case You Didn’t Know
If Dr. Cory could host a dream dinner party, he’d be joined by:
Jim Morrison – “Because of his creativity and philosophy.”
Bob Weir – “For his humor, irreverence, and the journey he’s lived.”
Dolly Parton – “Her kindness, musical legacy, and humanitarian spirit are inspiring.”
The most unforgettable experience of Dr. Cory’s career was serving on a chiropractic mission trip to Kathmandu, Nepal. “We adjusted more than 10,000 people among sacred temples with the Himalayas towering in the distance,” he recalls. “We witnessed chiropractic miracles, met the Crowned Prince at a reception, and were surrounded by the radiant smiles of the people and children we served. It truly felt like Shangri-La.”

Dr. Marlene Bassett joined the team of local healthcare providers at The Joint Chiropractic clinic in South Asheville in 2024 to continue doing the work she finds so rewarding.
“I first started practicing in Asheville immediately after Hurricane Helene devastated our community,” she says. “It has been such a powerful experience to help my patients in such a troubling time. Whether their pain is outside or inside, I can be a compassionate and helpful practitioner for them.”
Dr. Marlene, as her patients call her, gains satisfaction when she sees the immediate relief and joy experienced by her patients when they’re out of pain and on their way to wellness.
Originally from Montoursville, Penn., she grew up in a small town where chiropractic was not very well known. “I am lucky enough that my mom took me to a chiropractor to help with my growth spurts and pains when I was in the eighth grade,” she says. “Dr. Gregg Rhodes did a fantastic job of explaining everything and instilling in me a curiosity about chiropractic care. Once I went on to college, Dr. Sandy Gordon further motivated me to become a chiropractor and promote family wellness care.”
Dr. Marlene and her partner, Sam, moved to Asheville in 2024 after spending a year in a long-distance relationship between Florida and North Carolina. Sam’s passion is art and she works at a local gallery.
While playing division II basketball for East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Marlene earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science. She got a Doctorate at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Port Orange, Fla.
“I always knew I wanted to be in the medical field because, even from my youth, I have enjoyed helping people feel healthy again,” she says. “I also take great pride in providing high quality, judgment-free, compassionate care to all individuals, no matter their race, gender, orientation, or background. Every person should have access to honorable and comfortable chiropractic care.”
One of Dr. Marlene’s most meaningful experiences as a chiropractor involved a significant finding she had during an examination. “After treating a 13-year-old boy I encouraged his mother to schedule an MRI,” she says. “They discovered a 6-centimeter brain tumor resulting in a life-saving surgery.”
In her free time Dr. Marlene enjoys hiking, camping, exploring local breweries, and taking in live music or comedy shows.
In Case You Didn’t Know
She always keeps coffee in her kitchen. “I’m not myself without my morning caffeine to start the day,” she says. “I also keep the ingredients for pizza on hand because it’s my favorite food!”
If she could plan the ideal dinner party, Dr. Marlene would invite President Barack Obama, Vice-President Kamala Harris, and sports legends Michael Jordan and Sue Bird.
One of the coolest experiences of Dr. Marlene’s life was a cross country road trip from Pennsylvania to Yellowstone National Park when she was in middle school. “We stopped at every national landmark that we could along the way,” she says. “This road trip taught me from an early age how important it is to get out of my small hometown and experience other cultures, landscapes, and see all that our beautiful world has to offer us. Nature is stunning and so important to be protected.”
Her favorite book is Life Isn't Binary: On Being Both, Beyond, and In-Between by Meg-John Barker and Alex Iantaffi. “It taught me that life isn’t as black and white as I thought,” she says. “There are multiple perspectives for everything we experience and see.”
Some of her best advice came from her mother. “My mom always told me to be proud of being tall and to keep my head up and shoulders back,” she says. “I feel it has given me many years of good posture and confidence!”
Her favorite advice for others is: “There’s more to life than your phone; remember to create screen time limits and get outside.”

I’ve been a patient for over a year and will probably be one until the day I die. When I first went to The Joint I had a lot of lower back troubles that were paired with a migraine that would bring me to tears. Now I go once a week for a weekly adjustment and haven’t had those painful back troubles nor the migraines. Coming to The Joint has truly been life changing for me. I was super hesitant about joining another membership place where I’d just be another member number, that is so not the case here.

My spouse and I both love The Joint! They are very friendly and usually super fast. We really appreciate that we don't have to deal with a bunch of filler conversation before we get our adjustments. Just check-in, get adjusted and leave. Perfection!

Front desk person is very pleasant and informative. Doctor offered personnel care approach, after the adjustment suggested some exercise for me to do to improve my health of the spine. Really appreciate it and grateful for this professional and affordable and conveniently provided care

Immediately when you walk in to the Joint you are greeted right away by Cori always smiling and very informative. Dr. Mike gets it. My first time going there was 12/16/22 and then again today. After Dr. Mike looked at my paperwork, immediately he had a game plan and executed it . I highly recommend Dr. Mike and his team!!!!

I've been going to specifically see Dr Mike for the past couple of months because of his knowledge with headaches. It's been changing my life and I hope that I never have to see anyone else. His professionalism and compassionate care are excellent . If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

I started coming because of major issues with my neck. I waited until the pain was also in my shoulder and down my arm. Not a good idea. I'm so thankful for the excellent job Dr. Mike and Dr. Guy have done! Definitely going to keep up with this! Plus it's very affordable!
5/18 I have been coming for a little over a month. My back and neck are doing so much better! Thank you! Y'all are doing such a fantastic job! So thankful for the great job y'all do! I've been coming long enough now that everything goes back in place easily now. Thank you so much! The only doctor appointment I look forward to! Y'all do such a fantastic job!

I’m really glad I was able to find an affordable chiropractor that actually makes me feel a difference in my body. Dr. Mike was very understanding when I expressed I was uncomfortable with my neck being adjusted. He assured me that we don’t have to do any adjustments if I’m not comfortable with them. I have to commute an hour and half, but it has been worth it!

I have been a subscriber to the joint for about a year now and I’ve been very pleased. I live in Salisbury, North Carolina but I travel a lot due to my friends and family being all over North Carolina. It is so nice to be able to get adjustment wherever I am. I’ve had adjustments at my home clinic in Concord, Southern Pines, Raleigh, and now at the West Asheville location. I love the convenience of what the joint offers as far as later appointments, weekend appointments, and being able to just walk in when you need it. I just went to the Asheville location with my sister after our flight and it was so nice to get an adjustment on the fly on a Sunday afternoon. The doctor who adjusted me today was awesome, she did a great job, was gentle with my neck where I get a little scared, and my back feels great. Whenever I’ve gone to the joint no matter who Adjust me, it is always great. Highly recommend the joint for busy working people that want chiropractic care and affordable price and accessible hours.

I have been a Joint customer for about 5 years. I started in CA and moved to NC. The service at the Joint is great! I am very confidant in the care that both Dr. Guy and Dr. Mike provide. They both offer something that I haven't gotten elsewhere. Dy Guy is friendly and very efficient as well as knowledgeable. I come to this clinic specifically for Dr. Guy.

Dr. guy is the best chiropractor Dr I've ever gone to in the 30 yrs of going on and off to chiropractic care. He understands the body and it's symptoms. He also understands how to help the patient to stay out of pain regardless of how many times I show up for an adjustment with no judgements from him.

This clinic is THE BEST! The staff is very friendly and helpful. The prices are amazingly affordable. The doctors have plenty of experience, are very thorough and efficient, and got me out of intense pain and feeling better in as quickly as two days.
I have been seeing Dr. Guy and he is just such a great guy! He is very professional, thorough, does a GREAT job, and he is super fun to talk to. He is funny, intelligent, honest, and down to earth. I can’t imagine anybody not appreciating such an awesome chiropractor!
I have told at least 20 coworkers, family, and friends about Dr. Guy and the clinic. I’ve actually been telling everyone I can about how great this place is and telling them to check it out. Great location, great prices, and you can walk in any time they are available without an appointment!
(…of course, I would not arrive right before they close for lunch or close for the day…just check the hours on the website and arrive at least 30-45 minutes before they close for lunch or close for the day and you should be good)
No appointment times, no having to reschedule, and being able to simply walk in any time they are available is better than anything I’ve experienced anywhere else! Amazing concept on their part!! I am SO VERY thankful!!!

We love Dr Mike. We do not however love the front desk staff. We arrived at 13:35 to be checked in for adjustment. They close at 1400 and we were notified they might not be able to see us as there is a new patient and they go to lunch at 1400. We were told we could wait, we get checked in and go to the back to wait. The front desk staff tell us to come back to the front to sit as there is a new patient consult. I understand the need for privacy but this wasn’t afforded us when we were new patients. They turned away about 10 patients all before 1400. Really not convenient for a walk in clinic.
