By The Joint Chiropractic
For most across the U.S., the winter months mean staying inside where it’s warm and where there are fewer opportunities to move. This can often lead to stiffness and less flexibility in the lower back.
Dr. Patrick Bradley and Luke from The Joint Chiropractic have three lumbar stretches you can do at home to help improve flexibility, ease stiffness and avoid pain in your low back.

Hip Flexor Lunge: The Hip Flexor Lunge addresses the muscles that attach directly to the lower part of the spine. Prolonged sitting can cause your hips to tighter, which can also affect the health of your lower back.
Lying Spinal Twists: The Lying Spinal Twist is a great general stretch for your spine that can drastically increase mobility.
Cat and Camel: Similar to the Lying Spinal Twist, the Cat and Camel can really help increase mobility. With repetition, you’ll notice that you’re able to push further each time. If you’re familiar with the practice of yoga, Cat and Camel should be recognizable to you.
Remember to perform all these stretches as advised by your chiropractor.
