Dr. Kelvin, as his patients call him, is excited to be part of the team of local chiropractors serving Jacksonville.

"One of the best aspects involved with being in the field of chiropractic is the ability to offer an individual pain relief, allowing them to get back to the activities that they enjoy without the use of medication," he says. "The other thing that's gratifying is the opportunity to meet so many people from various backgrounds."

When he's not working, Dr. Kelvin likes going to the movies and building remote control cars with his son. Dr. Kelvin and his spouse share three beautiful dogs Jordan, Zane, and Tank.

He has a passion for chiropractic because there's such a direct connection with the patient. If he sat down with any four people from history to create a dinner party of his dreams he would include media mogul Oprah Winfrey, Disney CEO Robert Iger, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, and Microsoft founder Bill Gates. "I would like to have a dinner party with these individuals due to their public reach and employee base," he says. “I would discuss the benefits of chiropractic care in relation to employee productivity and decreased time off due to musculoskeletal issues. My aim would be to get each of these individuals to offer chiropractic care for all of their employees with The Joint Chiropractic as a national partner provider."

Although he may not be very adventurous with his cereal, that's not necessarily the case out in the world. "The coolest thing I have ever done is hike to the top of Mt. Quandary in Colorado," he says. "With an elevation of 14,265 feet, this is the highest that I have ever hiked. If I were to ever do it again, the only thing that I would change would be the time of year: hiking to 14,000 feet in the middle of winter is terribly cold!"

I had an amazing experience at The Joint Chiropractic. When I was 10 years old, I was involved in a car accident that left me with years of lingering issues in my neck, back, hips, and left leg. Over time, I had gotten used to the tightness, discomfort, and reduced sensation in parts of my body and honestly never expected much of that to change. After my adjustment, I immediately noticed that my neck, back, and hips felt looser and moved more freely. The biggest surprise came on the drive home. I touched my left calf, an area that has felt different since the accident, and noticed sensations I hadn't felt in years. It caught me completely off guard. It was such an emotional moment that both my girlfriend and I ended up teary-eyed on the ride home. My wife went into one of there clinics in jacksonville florida for a regular adjustment. The Dr. did an adjustment and injured her ligaments in her leg and foot. The following experience with the Medical director was continuous at best. He was asked to fund extended care to get her back to the ability to walk without pain. He told us that the Dr. did nothing wrong. That was the end of the conversation. I would never recommend anyone use any of these clinics.

Wait times in the evenings have gotten a bit out of hand to where I’m not going to continue my membership. When I first started coming here, I would wait 10-15 min. Now the wait times are a minimum 25-30min because only one doctor is staffed and nights are always busy. Because this is a walk-In service only, there’s no other option for me to check in ahead or make an appointment. The waiting room is small and having my toddler sit on my lap for 25-30 min is not feasible and neither is leaving my kids in the car since there’s rarely parking up front. Dr. LaReesa is amazing and it’s a shame I’m going to discontinue my membership but I’ve forfeited so many pre-paid sessions because I don’t have the capacity to wait a half hour with my kids in the car or running around in the office. A walk-in only service should focus on being properly staffed and not taking new patients when there’s only one doctor and a waiting room full of people. Or at least let you roll over unused sessions to the next month.

Been going to this locations for years and came close to an hr before close, 40 minutes til close and had new patients put before me right before close, 15min til, so I couldn’t be seen. Dr Lewis took a new patient before me since he was being rude. Have to prioritize your already paying customers who were waiting patiently there way before the others. Shouldn’t be having new patients appointments right before close either. I’m not going to wait through another new patient and have the Dr stay past closed. I came plenty of time before close time.

How do you skip over an existing patient that would take an average 5-10 mins for a new patient who would take 30? Because he made a big deal about it, learn how to put your foot down. We could’ve made a big deal about it as well but we are very patient, even dealing with a lot of pain so we ended up just leaving. We got there 45 mins before close and waited for 30 mins then the new patient is rude and you take him back, completely skip us in line to make the existing patient wait another 20ish mins ?? As we already waited 30 mins. Dr Lewis shouldn’t have let the mean guy go back. We had plenty of time before close but people are rude and your staff doesn’t know how to put their foot down and do things fairly. If you’re taking new and existing patients there needs to be more than one doctor or a different system because this is extremely unfair to PAYING customers waiting patiently. Dr Laressa is awesome though she would’ve put her foot down.

STOP! LOOK NO FURTHER, this is the place for you. I can’t speak for all The Joint locations but I can definitively say the Mandrin location is the best in chiropractic care, in all of Jacksonville. Dr. Laresa and Dr. Eric are the only 2 physicians to EVER fully crack my back. I have scoliosis in 2 places in my spine and past doctors have had trouble adjusting me. Not these guys. The relief I got was instant. I could cry at the immediate release of tension alone. Not to mention, the overall vibe of compassion and wellness this facility offers. I promise, you won’t leave disappointed.

I’d have to say this is one of the best chiropractors I’ve ever been to. Genuinely. I moved down here not too long ago and went to other ones that were $50 a visit and it was too expensive especially since I need it more than normal. I found joint chiropractic and hoped on the plan. For only $70 a month I’m getting 4 visits. You do the math. Insane. Anyways my favorite one there I love going to is Dr. LaResa Reed. She is such an amazing chiropractor. She’s very personal and genuine to all her patience. My day gets better when I see her. She’s such a light and is so talented in her work. I don’t leave reviews often , but she’s worth leaving one for.

I have come to this location at different times of day and still have had to wait each time. Today was so long I actually cancelled the service left. Over 20 mins. The provider Larissa is great when you can see her… but the wait is absolutely ridiculous, especially in comparison to the River City location where the wait is consistently 5 mins or less. I’ve seen the company responses for this location to negative comments- do not attack me, take the criticism and do better guys.

Great pricing structure. Really can’t beat the price. Dr.Eric was always so friendly and efficient and usually who I preferred to see. I can usually pick a good time to get up there so that I’m in and out but if i end up waiting behind others, it’s never a big deal. Everyone always appreciates my patience and if im really that busy, i can luckily leave and come back or go to another location. There’s plenty in town. In the same breathe, I appreciate a thorough adjustment even if others are waiting so I don’t mind returning the gesture.

The customer service at this establishment was absolutely deplorable. I was never informed that multiple doctors would be involved in my care, and I was misled into a wellness plan that supposedly included two free visits. After my second visit, the doctor instructed me to return on Friday for an adjustment. When I arrived, however, she was absent, and I was forced to see another doctor—despite my discomfort with the situation. The new doctor’s first question was whether I “just slept on it wrong.” This was incredibly insulting, as I’ve been in multiple car accidents, and I expect a chiropractor to have a deeper understanding of my pain. It’s precisely why I sought professional care. After expressing my discomfort, I decided to forgo the treatment altogether and wait for the doctor I was originally supposed to see. I then asked the receptionist, while I waited for my friends to be seen, to speak with a manager. I was told the manager would contact me, but despite calling three or four times over the next two weeks, I received no response. After being assured a call back on Saturday, I heard nothing. I left a message on Monday, and finally, on Tuesday, the manager called me back, explaining she was “on top of a mountain” and couldn’t return my call sooner. How is that an acceptable excuse, especially when her receptionist had promised me a callback on Saturday? In the conversation with the manager, I requested a refund for the poor service, but was told I was only eligible for $24 out of the $108 I paid for an initial visit and four additional visits—of which I only attended two. They also refused to redeem the so-called “free” visits, which came with the Wellnessplan My three friends and I will never return, and I would strongly advise anyone considering this practice to look elsewhere. This experience was not only frustrating but outright disrespectful.

Never again. They tell patients they are lairs and steal their money when their treatment is completed. Total negligence by the front desk to provide cancelation forms when you state your plan is complete and no services are further required. They just say you are all set and have a great day. UPDATE, the reply received is not a true statement. Don't fall for it. Corporate will make every excuse in the book to keep charging you and then blame the patient for their negligence to file and provide paperwork.

It was fate meeting Dr Laresa Reed and she changed my life. I suffered from severe tension headaches and tightness in my neck and upper back where I carry my stress and anxiety. I'm an ER nurse and didn't believe in chiropractic care. She changed that. I can't recommend her enough to every one I talk to. If you have ANY doubts. I highly recommend seeing this tiny but mighty woman. You will NOT regret it. My shoulder pain is GONE. My 3-4 times a week tension headaches come maybe once every 2 weeks. I look forward to seeing her every week but you can choose how often you want to go. I then stop next door for a sandwich and cookie. It's become my favorite day of the week. ❤️

The team itself are great. They also provide a calendar to let you know when your favorite people will be working that day. Facilities are always clean, with clean water to drink. Always greeted with a smile and the docs really care about you. 5 stars! However, i’m not so happy about the recent corporate office’s decisions. 1. Customer Appreciation Day was more focused to bring in new customers not existing customers, bad advertising. Call it New Customer Appreciation Day or actually show appreciation to the existing. 2. Military/Veterans lost their discount for the “Buy 5 months, get the 6th free” plan. I would assume most have left The Joint due to this snub because we tend to gravitate to where we are appreciated. I’m hoping they would reconsider once the financial hit is realized due to this bad decision. To drop our discount to recover $100 a year but in reality you will lose $590 a year because we left after the snub. To Corporate, your Military Benefits brought me to you, please reenable our full discounts again. Next Customer Appreciation Day, focus on the existing customers first, new customers second.

Always a delightful visit. Front desk & Dr’s are always so pleasant with their hospitality. I was seeing The Joint for a long time but then switched to a locally owned office. I do like The Joint however I believe it’s a “quick fix”. The best chiropractors have the tables that move & stretch your body. If you’re looking for a QUICK relief, I recommend The Joint. However, I will always recommend a local chiropractor who has moving tables, muscle electric therapy, heat therapy and massage therapy. Great experience though! The Drs are well educated and pin point the exact problem.

Doctors are the best and caring, however management can seriously use additional training when helping existing customers. I had a membership that just expired this month and had intentions on renewing up until my interacting with a young lady who stated she’s the manager. I visited the Joint during my lunch break today to use a care card I was provided by Dr. LaReesa to make up for lost sessions in the month of February when my 2 year old and I were very sick. I had prepaid 5 or 6 months in advance for my sessions and only asked for leniency this one time. Well, the manager refused to honor the card and refused to provide me with an adjustment until I reactivated my care plan for the month. I kindly let her know I don’t have the funds at the moment to reactivate but I was in pain and just wanted an adjustment to make up for what I had already paid in February. Long story short, the manager showed zero empathy and refused to acknowledge I already paid for sessions and I’m not asking anything for free. I also explained there’s no where on the care card that states I’m required to have an active plan to use it. The manager continued to ignore that i was sick and was extended a courtesy via the care card and refused care until I agreed to renew my membership. She made me feel embarrassed and entitled right in front of everyone in the lobby and was so focused on the membership instead of my needs as a customer who was in pain. If she would’ve explained policy regarding the cards and honored my session for the day, I would’ve certainly renewed but after that embarrassment, there’s absolutely no way I would continue doing business here. Please consider better training for your staff as no customer deserves to be embarrassed or treated like I was.

Now, as you know, The Joint is located all over the US. But here locally in Jacksonville, Fl The Joint off of San Jose Blvd. has been the best service chiropractic location. I have never been treated with care or cater to at any other location except this place. The customer service is outstanding, and most of the credit is to DR. LaRESA REED and her expertise. DR. LaRESA REED After a long day, decided to still take me in even though it was her lunch break. Every time I come here she is always making sure she’s taking care of the patients. There is no other doctor at this location that works as hard as her. She’s the first one in and the last one out. My husband was still being charge a membership that he had canceled 2 years ago. He had called the chiropractors office about and they told him they would take care of it and that it would be ok. Nope, not the case. He was still getting charged $69 month. We disputed the transactions. Then couple months later we see the charges again there. We called and are still waiting for them to return our calls and refund us. Say no to the subscription! It’s a SCAM.

I'll be honest -- I'm generally a bit skeptical of chiropractic care. In the past I've gone for a specific issue and been pushed to get xrays, twice-a-week care, etc. I had the EXACT opposite experience at The Joint Mandarin. I woke up on Saturday morning in an immense amount of pain and basically unable to turn my head to the left. With low expectations but willing to try anything, I went to The Joint and saw Dr. Kevin. He addressed my exact concerns and never once tried to tell me I needed regular care (which is really impossible with my schedule). 12 hours later, I am 90% pain free with virtually full range of motion. I don't know what kind of sorcery Dr. Kevin performed, but I am here for it!

I am new to the whole chiropractic experience. I actually have been pretty intimidated by chiropractic interventions, especially because I have some atypical medical problems. After many physicians and co-workers suggested to seek a chiropractor for my musculoskeletal problems and also my migraines, I decided to give it a go! The Joint Chiropractic on San Jose was amazing. From the first steps I took in the door, I felt cared for and respected. The chiropractor that saw me, I believe it was Dr. Shannon, was amazing. He took time to listen to my concerns and goals with treatment, and was very understanding with my hesitance. Originally I had only intended to make it a one visit thing, to say I tried it. I walked out with a membership :) Looking forward to less painful days ahead!

This was my first time at a Chiropractor. Their team is super professional and it only takes about 10 minutes to fill out the required paperwork, the consultation takes about 20 minutes, then they go right into your first adjustment which is about 10 minutes. Dr.Leigh Ann has really made a difference. I went in with my left arm messed up; pinched a nerve. My range of motion wasn't good and I had tingling from the elbow down. Since I started going the tingling is almost gone and my range of motion is much better.

5 stars because we love Dr. Leigh-Ann. Shes the best! Location has upset us a couple of times regarding walk ins. They advertise no appointment needed and walk ins are welcome. My dad went as a new patient at 10am (right they open) and the front office clerk told him to come back at 11am since they had an appointment scheduled already at 10am. We waited instead. The appointment never showed up and there were many people walking in just to get adjusted and were taken care of before us. We waited until 10:45am to start his new patient exam since every single walk in for adjustment were helped before us, which is understandable since it only takes about 5 minutes to get adjusted while the exam takes around 30 minutes. Well, yesterday October 17th, Saturday, they are open 10-5pm. My dad is truck driver so his schedule is never really known. Just depending on the traffic and how fast they load/unload his truck. He arrived as a walk in for an adjustment at 4pm and was turned away by Rachel. Rachel told him that she had THREE new patient appointments scheduled 4-5pm so he could not get adjusted. I know this a lie because why would The Joint schedule 3 30 minute appointments in a 1 hour window. Way to make yourself sound too busy to help customers who have already signed up for the monthly membership plan. Also, it reminded me of the situation of when we went in for a new patient exam and had to wait for every walk in to get their back adjusted to even get seen. Again, Dr. Leigh-Ann is great and we purposely wait until she is there for the day to go in for our visits because she adjusts everything like our necks, legs, and back. The way that the scheduling/appointments/ & walk ins are handled need to be changed though. A system should be in place whether it is to have 2 chiropractors there on the busy weekends so the “walk ins welcomed” advertising strategy would make sense!
