Dwayne Acoba, D.C., brings his 25 years of caring chiropractic career expertise and more than a decade of teaching experience to the Joint. Born and raised in California, Dr. Acoba has been in the Bay Area for more than 17 years, after living and working in SoCal for 25 years. After teaching elementary school for 11 years, he decided to attend Southern California University Health Sciences in 1996. There, he has worked in a number of successful practices: At Paramount Chiropractic Institute in both Downey and Anaheim, he provided care for as many as 100 patients daily. He also provided subluxation-based wellness care at Aloha Chiropractic in Long Beach, and at The Hollywood Health Place in Hollywood.

While still in Southern California, the Doctor opened a Chiropractic practice servicing those forging elite fitness. Once in the Bay area, Dr. Acoba started to provide care to the Crossfit community helping several athletes attend the Crossfit games who eventually went on to win. Since then, he worked at six Crossfit gyms in the East Bay, serving elite athletes, while accessing the body’s musculature allows him to evaluate functional and movement patterns—and ultimately reset the body’s musculature.

Although not a true fisherman, he loves to try by fishing from a kayak off the coast of California.
