Dr. Terry Thomas is a 2006 graduate of New York Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls, New York. After practicing in upstate NY for 8 years including operating his own practice for nearly 6, he returned to the eastern plains of Colorado with his family. He spends as much time as possible outdoors, fueling his families love of nature with various outdoor activities and athletic events.
Dr. Jessica Mansavage became a team member of The Joint Chiropractic family of healthcare professionals in 2019. She started with Lakewood’s Colorado Mills location, and has transitioned into the Broadmoor Towne Center in Colorado Springs as a local chiropractor. Dr. Jess, as she prefers her patients call her, received both her bachelor’s degree in human biology and her doctorate from Northwestern College of Chiropractic (now Northwestern Health Sciences University).
“The best thing about being a chiropractor is helping people feel better naturally,” Dr. Jess says. “I enjoy educating people about how to achieve a healthy lifestyle, and watching it happen over and over again is very rewarding.”
Not only is she passionate about chiropractic, but she loves The Joint’s concept of affordable maintenance care.
Dr. Jess was raised on a dairy farm in Pine City, Minnesota. She has practiced chiropractic and holistic nutrition since 1998 in North Dakota and several locations in Colorado.
“I enjoy sports, music, cooking, and being active,” Dr. Jess says. “Spending time with my kids is very important to me. I love the outdoors, being involved with every phase of each of my children, watching my son play hockey, spending time with my friends and hockey families. I love being a mom!”
Dr. Jess has two daughters, two sons, and a goldfish.
She was a teenager when she was introduced to chiropractic.
“I was 14 when I received my first adjustment. I remember it like yesterday because it was the only thing that helped relieve my migraines and headaches that started when I was 6 years old,” Dr. Jess says. “For eight years I consumed enormous amounts of Advil to try to reduce my headaches, so on top of the headaches, I also developed irritable bowel symptoms from the overuse of ibuprofen. After several types of imaging with no answers, my mother heard that chiropractic might help me. I responded so well to chiropractic, after that experience, I knew in my heart that I wanted to help others with natural methods. When I was 19, as I was completing my Associate of Arts degree, I toured the chiropractic college in Minneapolis and immediately knew that was the right path for me.”
In Case You Didn’t Know
Dr. Jess says the one thing she always has handy in her refrigerator is apple cider vinegar because “it assists with so many things.”
If she could gather together any four people from present and history for her ideal dinner party, Dr. Jess says she would like to sit down with self-help guru Tony Robbins, Princess Diana, talk show host Ellen Degeneres, and Mother Teresa. “These people are examples of wisdom, grace, humility, motivation, beauty, humor, and so much more -- these are all genuine contributors who made, or make, the world a better place.”
The coolest thing that Dr. Jess has ever done took place with her final pregnancy. “I had a home birth with my fourth child,” she says. “It was absolutely amazing. Now one of my daughters wants to be a midwife because of the experience we shared as a family.”
