Dr. James Ploutz, DC joined The Joint Chiropractic of Colorado Springs in May 2018 and has been assigned to the Colorado Springs clinic since he started. He prefers to go by Dr. Jim. Dr. Jim graduated from Broome Community College with a Liberal arts degree in 1991. Shortly after he attended New York College of Chiropractic and graduated in 1995 with his doctorate degree.

The thing Dr. Jim loves best about Chiropractic is the natural and safe health care he can provide without the use of drugs. He also loves having a profound impact on the health of his patients.

Dr. Jim worked as a Chiropractor in his home town of Binghamton NY. He has twenty-three years as a Chiropractor.

Dr. Jim is a big time outdoorsman and enjoys, hunting, fishing, ATVs, outdoor sports and exploring this beautiful state of Colorado.

Dr. Jim has one son who he loves to spend time with.

As a teenager Dr. Jim simply could not understand the idea of how ingesting man-made chemicals could lead to a greater expression of life. He found chiropractic to make so much more sense when it came to the concept of health. The body is self-healing and self-regulating the neurological system is the master system in charge of that self-healing and self-regulating anything that interferes with the nervous system affects the body's ability to self-regulate and self-heal. Subluxations interfere with the nervous system and therefore must be removed by the chiropractor in order to achieve the greatest expression of health.

Dr. Jim loves the simplicity of the philosophy of The Joint – focusing on the most powerful thing we can do for a patient which is the adjustment and creating an avenue for more people to be able to benefit from chiropractic care at an affordable cost.

Dr. Jim says you will always find his refrigerator stocked with food, preferably venison or elk since he is a hunter.

Dr. Ploutz loves and played baseball with aspirations of going pro. Understandably if he had to an opportunity to have dinner with any four people he admired two of them would be baseball players they would be Pete Rose and Cal Ripkin. As a Chiropractor he would also invite Dr. Patrick Gentempo D.C. as a guest and last but not least President Teddy Roosevelt.

The coolest thing ever that Dr. Jim has done is become a father “it's the coolest thing ever because the older I get the more I turn into my own father (and that's awesome).”

I love spending time with my life partner Grace and our two beautiful dogs. I love to go skiing, backpacking, rock climbing and mountain biking. I enjoy working on cars and gardening.

What does Dr. John like most about working at the Joint? ‘They put the patient first. That means they run business operations in a manner that keeps the cost of treatments as low as possible, so that patients can afford to be seen as often as is necessary for pain relief that lasts. The doctors here are frank and honest with patients- that the process of correcting the alignment of your spine requires many adjustments delivered over a period of time. Only in this way will the root cause of your pain be corrected. This is in contrast to the way other businesses operate, which is to include a buffet of therapies, which may help with temporary pain relief, but may not be in the best interest of a patient with a limited budget and who needs their problem fixed.’
