An avid baseball player, his dad Tony and his dad’s best friend J.C. coached him starting in T-Ball all the way through Freshman year of high school. J.C., a chiropractor himself, guided Matt and taught him about the profession along the way, igniting his interest into becoming a Doctor of Chiropractic. Matt had the rare advantage of knowing what he wanted to do with his life at just the age of 12, which allowed him years of research, coaching, and shadowing experience regarding Chiropractic well before he even reached college. After graduating with honors from high school, he attended San Diego State University and subsequently obtained a B.S. in Kinesiology, which fulfilled the prerequisites necessary to enter Chiropractic college.

Dr. Matt continued his education at the Palmer College of Chiropractic, West Campus in San Jose, CA. At Palmer, he became best friends with one his classmates, Drew McClure. Drew happened to be the son of the renowned Dr. Dan McClure, a legend in the world of Chiropractic and one of the founders of the Certified Chiropractic Extremity Practitioner (CCEP) program, which teaches Chiropractors advanced techniques for treating the body’s limbs and various sports injuries. He spent a lot of time being mentored, attending seminars, and later teaching seminars alongside both Drs. Drew and Dan, mastering the art and science of extremity adjusting by the time graduation rolled around in 2013. This was also the time he found a love for strength training and bodybuilding, and that passion continues to this day.

Dr. Matt’s first job as a chiropractor out of college was actually at The Joint in San Diego, CA. Here he honed his craft and also met his wife and the love of his life, Amanda. They now spend their free time enjoying anything outdoors, recreational bodybuilding, hiking, Red Rocks concerts, brewery hopping, vacationing in Mexico, and trying to keep up with all 5 of their awesome children, who all love getting adjusted by their Dad! Dr. Matt and Amanda moved to Northern Colorado to raise their children and grow their family, and are truly grateful for all of the fantastic people (and patients alike) who have welcomed them to Colorado with open arms. Dr. Matt is excited to open his practice in Lafayette, as he and Amanda were married here at the Dove House in 2016, and they truly love this city.

    I’ve been a patient at The Joint off and on for over a decade and the quality of care I would receive was average at best. I always felt like a number at other offices so I quit using The Joint. We moved to Boulder County around the same time The Joint in Lafayette was being built out. Since we were new to the area I decided to give it one more shot and I’m glad I did because Dr. Matt provides the best care of any chiropractor I’ve ever seen. He’s not only a cool guy who is personable, but he listens to his patients and is very thorough with his adjustments. I’ve struggled with back pain for years now and have even had a surgery. Dr. Matt takes the time to listen and educate his patients about what is happening and how we can take better care of ourselves in addition to regular adjustments. Finally, I have kids with special needs and he took the time to assuage their fears and build trust with them. Now they will tell you that Dr. Matt is the only chiropractor they trust.     I was visiting Colorado to see family, I live in West LA, and the morning of my flight I threw out my neck horribly (the plane ride was so uncomfortable…). I NEEDED a chiropractor and was drawn to Dr. Matt Basilio because of his background in CCEP and treating sports injuries, so I felt like he would be effective yet gentle. And WOW, he exceeded my expectations. I don’t think my back has ever cracked so much in my life, I felt like a new woman walking out of his office! The relief I felt was unbelievable. I could breathe better, my pain was down significantly, and I gained mobility back into my neck. My adjustment was so good, I went back to see him again before my flight home to LA.     I can't say enough about Dr. Matt and his care. I've been searching for years for a chiropractor near home that is thorough, affordable, and recommends exercises and stretching that can be done at home to help the care. FOUND ONE! I have occasional upper and mid-back discomfort, which he always sets straight. But my real issue right now is an impingement in my left shoulder.     I had never been to a chiropractor before, but the front desk staff, as well as Dr. Matt, were very welcoming. Matt took the time to explain what he was doing and why during every step of the process to help me feel more at ease. He also will give me ‘homework’ to help strengthen specific places so I have less reason to keep coming back. The people here are great, and I would highly recommend, especially for those trying for the first time!

    Dr. Matt Basilio is by far the best I’ve been to for chiropractic care. I have been getting adjusted for 5 years and no one has taken the time and consideration Dr. Matt does. Legitimately from head to toe, he will listen to your needs and assess your body to make sure you leave feeling better than you came in. I am now expecting my first child and know he is fully experienced in adjusting pregnant woman as he did so for his wife throughout all of their children. My husband has also had shoulder issues for years and I’ve brought him to many chiropractors and none of them seemed to help the root of the cause where even my husband agrees, Dr. Matt helped on the first visit.     Best Joint I have been to yet! And Matt is the best chiropractor I've ever seen. I travel for work so I end up going to a lot of Joints but Matt has helped me the most. He spends more time, does a greater variety of things that are having a positive impact, and gives better advice than I've gotten from anybody.     Yesterday I drove two hours round-trip for an adjustment by Dr. Matt, who until recently was my chiropractor here in Fort Collins before becoming owner of The Joint in Lafayette. He had quite a following here; as one example, my yoga-in-the-park teacher once brought up his name and gushed, “Dr. Matt got me through my pregnancy.” I hate it that he left, because over my forty-some years of getting regular chiropractic adjustments in three states, he is far and away the best chiropractor I’ve ever had. To begin with, his skill set is remarkable: he’s super-smart, highly observant and intuitive, physically dexterous, and an excellent problem-solver. When I injured my knee last spring, the local physician I rushed to assured me, after a quick physical exam, that the cartilage was fine—whereas Dr. Matt, after examining my knee and asking me a range of questions, thought the problem was a partially torn meniscus. His turned out to be the correct diagnosis, and my meniscus healed ahead of schedule thanks to his adjustments and his recommendations of specific ice treatments and leg-strengthening exercises. Beyond his skills, Dr. Matt stands out as a warm and caring (and funny) guy who gets to know you as a person and never forgets anything you tell him about your life. I like his replacement here, and I don’t think I can pull off a weekly two-hour drive, but yesterday won’t be the last time I make the pilgrimage to Lafayette. I envy Lafayette locals their good luck in living near an amazing chiropractor.

    This is a 10/10 clinic that needs to more exposure, as it is a brand new location. I was so incredibly grateful to Dr. Matt and his dedication to his practice and to each individual patient. Unlike other chiropractors I have been to in the past, he did not rush me out, nor did he just go through the motions. His methods and technique were more effective for me than any clinic I've been to in the last 5 years - and that is saying a lot. Having been to a dozen or so different "Joint" locations, I had been getting used to the same ol' standard adjustment. Dr. Matt implemented extra stretching and adjustment techniques that I had never encountered before and they did wonders. He was able to target very specific points of pain and inflammation and I left in a different state than I had entered. He is also super friendly, comforting, and will go above and beyond. Mickie, the receptionist, is also fantastic and makes everything run efficiently. I wish Dr. Adam and this practice so much success because it definitely deserves it! - Tom

    I came in so much pain, I could barely move my head and it was just going poorly all around. Even though I am from out of town Dr. Matt gave my injury above and beyond the amount of time I would expect. He and his staff were also so kind. He is outstanding at adjusting, truly cares about my needs, has a great sense of humor, and took his time to really try to get to know me.     I've been to many different "The Joint" locations and this is by far the best one. There's a part of me that doesn't want to share this because I enjoy it not being busy, but I also want it to remain there and they just opened and need the business. The doctor is very attentive and helpful. I'm so glad I live close to one now!
