Dr. Skylyr Strader, D.C., is proud to be representing The Joint in Florida. He leaves behind a legacy of excellence everywhere he travels: first at Saint Leo University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences and then at Palmer College’s Florida campus, where he graduated co-Valedictorian with his Doctor of Chiropractic degree.
He began his journey in chiropractic when he received his first adjustment at 3 years old. As someone who has commonly struggled with vertigo throughout his life and always found relief through adjustments, he wanted to be able to heal his patients in the same way he had been healed. Dr. Strader brings with him the latest technical developments in chiropractic medicine. He took every extracurricular adjusting technique the college offered, as well as numerous seminars to hone his skillset. With such a wide range of treatment options available to him, Dr. Strader is able to personally tailor every treatment to generate the best possible outcomes for his patients.
When he isn’t at the office or reading the latest research, Dr. Strader enjoys unwinding with a relaxing video game. He is an avid writer, having been published twice in The Sandhill Review, a local magazine at Saint Leo, for a creative non-fiction piece titled “Where the Heart is” and a poem titled “Stepping Backwards”. Dr. Strader also has two secret talents: 1) knowing who the president was at any year since the birth of the country; 2) being able to recall what movie/show he has seen an actor in before.
Dr. Sherif Musa is always in pursuit of new knowledge. He started at California State University, Fullerton by getting his bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in clinical exercise science. Shortly after graduating, Dr. Musa became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He then attended Los Angeles College of Chiropractic with a focus in biomechanics and sports medicine. Now he is in pursuit of his Master of Business Administration with a focus in healthcare analytics.
He was originally drawn to chiropractic because of his love of mystery novels, especially The Hardy Boys. He views every new patient as a tiny mystery to be solved. The better his investigation, the better the outcome of the patient.
Dr. Musa enjoys treating patients of all ages and backgrounds, but sports medicine has always been of special interest to him as he was a high school athlete who suffered many injuries along the way. Between his chiropractic and kinesiology training and his strength and conditioning certification, he is able to easily manage an athlete of any level from youth leagues to Division I NCAA. He is also able to help anyone looking to pursue a more active lifestyle.
Dr. Musa was born in Cairo, Egypt before moving to the DC Metro Area. He is an avid football fan and has been a “die-hard” Redskins fan for the last 35 years. He is also exceptionally gifted at catching lizards with barbecue tongs, as well as a skilled pool shark.
Dr. Theresa Martin has an extensive history within the healthcare realm. Her original intentions were to be a physical education teacher; however, she decided on massage therapy, which she practiced for 26 years. She also obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from Park College. Finally, she pursued her chiropractic degree at Palmer College of Chiropractic Florida, graduating in the 1st class at the college.
Dr. Martin is a longtime veteran within The Joint Chiropractic. She was the opening clinic director for the Saint Pete office, as well as serving patients at the Carrollwood, South Tampa, New Tampa, and Brandon locations.
One of her favorite moments of her chiropractic career was when she was able to treat patients abroad in the Caribbean. She was selected as the representative from her class to travel to Bequia, located in the Grenadine Islands. There she treated islanders of all ages and health conditions for a full week. The experience reaffirmed that she had made the correct choice in pursuing chiropractic.
Dr. Martin is a Tampeña, hailing from the great city of Tampa. She attended Tampa Catholic high school where she earned the nickname the “Cuban Cracker” as she was the only non-Latino on the sports teams. In 2012, she was inducted into the Tampa Catholic Athletic Hall of Fame for softball for her contributions during their state championship victory. Nowadays, she spends her downtime outdoors on Clearwater or Venice Beach searching for her next shark’s tooth. She is also the caregiver for her 84 year old mother and her 14 year old “Westie” named Scottie. She also likes to cook and create; her favorite dish being stuffed shells. As she likes to say “the challenge of cooking is that it’s time consuming, otherwise it’s an art.”
Dr. Christine Britt graduated from Rutgers University with her Bachelor of Art in Biological Life Sciences with a minor in Psychology. While deciding what part of the healthcare realm she wanted to pursue, she started working as an assistant for a chiropractor in New York City. Her doctor took her to a chiropractic seminar where she fell in love with the profession. She obtained her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Life University and came to Florida shortly after.
Dr. Britt has been taking care of Floridians all across the state since 2017. She started in North Florida at Tallahassee, before heading down to South Florida. She served communities in Coconut Creek, West Palm Beach, and Lake Worth, before moving to Central Florida. Now she has put her roots down in South Tampa and is excited to be treating the Greater Tampa community.
Dr. Britt is most passionate about treating pregnant and pediatric patients. She is currently certified in the advanced Webster technique and about to finish her ICPA, which is a specialization in pregnant, pediatric, and post-partum patients. Some of her most gratifying moments is taking care of a pregnant mother and then giving the first adjustment to her baby.
In her downtime, she enjoys staying active through: Pilates, yoga, hiking, and dancing. She also enjoys meditating, relaxing at the beach, traveling, and attending concerts. One of her favorite trips was when she rode a camel and camped in the Sahara Desert. She is a proud owner of the cutest dog ever, a Goldendoodle named Alfie. She is also a butter fanatic, but it has to be sea-salted butter from pasture-raised grass-fed cows.
