Dr. Hector De Jesus became part of The Joint Chiropractic’s team of local healthcare providers in 2022 and began serving residents in Mount Dora doing the work he finds so rewarding.
“Being able to help all types of ethnicities and communities with a holistic method is so gratifying,” he says.
“I love being able to help people who have been suffering from pain for a long time and be able to fix it with my own hands with a couple of visits. It’s satisfying to see people’s progress and change their quality of life.
Dr. De Jesus grew up in Puerto Rico. “Back then, medicine and holistic approaches were not as advanced as they are now,” he says. “I actually got injured playing sports and nobody was able to help me until I went to the chiropractor who was able to get me back on the field to pursue my dream of playing college baseball.”
He shares his home with two shih tzus and a schnauzer. “I love fishing, dancing, playing softball, and spending quality time with my dogs and family members,” he says.
Dr. De Jesus got his doctorate at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Port Orange. Before that, he got a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Warner University in Lake Wales.
“I knew chiropractic was my calling ever since I found another chiropractor who was able to help me without the use of any medication or surgery,” he says. “I felt passionate about it. I wanted to do exactly the same as him, which it to help others get back on their feet by using a holistic approach.”
And that is something he has seen over and over. “Multiple patients have walked into the office with severe pain that they’ve had for years, but by the time they walk out, they are walking or moving the way they were before getting hurt,” he says. “They burst out crying in front of me or other patients just saying thank you.”
In Case You Didn’t Know
If he could invite anyone from history to his ideal dinner party, De. De Jesus would include baseball legend Roverto Clemente, player Jose Reyes, actress Jennifer Lopez, and singer Austin Santos, aka Arcangel.
Dr. De Jesus says the most important thing he has in his refrigerator is cold water: “You have to stay hydrated.”
Some of the best advise he ever received was from his dad, who told him to learn from his mistakes: “What matters is what you do to get up and keep going forward.” Likewise, the best advice he can give is practical: “If you could, always try chiropractic before almost any type of surgery—you won’t regret it.”
Dr. Ekaterina Zintchenko joined The Joint Chiropractic in 2021 when she became part of the team at the Mount Dora clinic, where she does the rewarding work of helping people as their local healthcare provider.
“I love helping patients decrease their pain so they feel better daily and are in a better mood, and can enjoy their home and family life without pain and discomfort,” she says “Being in the chiropractic field, we meet many different patients and it is enjoyable to get to know so many people with different life experiences and backgrounds.”
Dr. Kat, as she is known to her patients, was born in Russia but raised in north Florida since age 4. She and her high school sweetheart have an Australian shepherd named Luka and cat named Mia; the family is expecting their first child in late 2022. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and playing with her puppy.
She earned her doctorate from Palmer College of Chiropractic after earning a bachelor’s in health sciences pre-clinical from University or Central Florida.
“I always appreciated a more natural approach to healthcare, which helped lead me to chiropractic care to reduce long-term pain I was experiencing,” she says. “After one adjustment, the relief was so great that I decided to help people feel the same way and become a chiropractor.”
In Case You Didn’t Know
If she could bring together any four people from history for her ideal dinner party, Dr. Kat would love to sit down with writers Stephen King, JK Rowling, James Patterson, and Nicholas Sparks. “They are all creative authors and I bet they would have so many great stories to tell for hours on end,” she says.
Dr. Kat says Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is the most influential book she has read. “It got me into my love for reading,” she says.
The one thing she always keeps stocked in her refrigerator is Babybel cheese: “It’s a perfect little snack when you can’t decide what to eat.”
Born and raised in Central Florida, Dr. Katie knows this community and how to serve it. She completed her Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Central Florida. She continued her education at Palmer College of Chiropractic, Port Orange campus, where she earned her Doctor of Chiropractic.
Dr. Katie has special interest in treating kids and mothers as well as biomechanical dysfunction especially of the hips, knees, and feet. Her treatments are based on the FMS system and designed to restore a patient’s natural movement patterns and keep them performing at their highest level. Dr. Katie has extra training from Palmer College in Cox Flexion Distraction, Sports, Gonstead and Graston techniques. Treating the body as a whole is at the forefront of the care she provides.
On a personal level, Dr. Katie enjoys spending time with her family, on the lake fishing, and teaching patients how to care for themselves. This is all part of what makes Dr. Katie who she is today.
As a part of The Joint team she is excited to learn about her patients and treat them will the highest possible standard of care!
