Dr. Brian S. Hunt became part of The Joint Chiropractic’s family of local healthcare providers with his arrival at the Weston clinic location. A product of Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, he earned a bachelor’s degree in science and doctorate in chiropractic.
“I love meeting patients,” Dr. Hunt says. “It’s incredibly gratifying to help people find relief from their pain.”
Before moving to Weston, Dr. Hunt grew up in Ohio and also lived in the New York City area. In his spare time, when he’s not caring for his gray tabby named Fiona, he enjoys opera and musical theater, scuba diving, and studying stained glass. “I love glass as a medium,” he says. “I started taking stained glass lessons over a decade ago. I originally started making panels with the copper foil method and have several of my panels across the United States. I have visited all the stain glass manufacturers in the U.S., as well. In recent years, I’ve taken classes in glass painting and fusing, and also want to learn hand blowing hot glass.
He got into chiropractic at the suggestion of college instructors. “I was actually told I should be a chiropractor,” he says. “When I went to school to be a massage therapist, our science teachers were chiropractors and they thought I should be a chiropractor. And then when I started my own massage business, my clients thought I should be a chiropractor because I was a clinical massage therapist and always strove to help them correct their problems.”
In Case You Didn’t Know
Dr. Hunt says the one thing he always keeps available in his kitchen is sour cream. “It’s my addiction,” he admits.
If he could bring together any four figures from history for the dinner party of his dreams, Dr. Hunt would bring together opera star Luciano Pavarotti, and Tony Award winners Audra McDonald and Betty Buckley, and God. “I spent a large portion of my life as a performer, so the first three are artists I greatly admire. I include God because I’m very inquisitive and would ask Him so many questions that He would probably be begging to leave.”
Performing on the stage is the coolest thing Dr. Hunt has ever done. “I was a professional opera singer and musical theater performer for 17 years,” he says. “I finished second at the Regional Metropolitan Opera Auditions and it gave me the ability to travel the world and see all the wonders it possesses.”
