Dr. John Corley joined The Joint Chiropractic family of healthcare providers in 2018 when he became part of the Shiloh clinic. An Eastern Illinois alum who got a bachelor’s degree in biology and life science, Dr. John received his doctorate from Logan College.
“The thing I love best about what I do is having the ability to heal people using only my hands,” Dr. John says. “The second-best thing about being in this field, and this is important, is being an alternative to medication.”
Dr. John grew up in southern Illinois and worked previously in Murphysboro before landing in Shiloh. He and his wife, a speech pathologist, have three three daughters and a cat named SweetPea.
Dr. John is a sportsman through and through. “I enjoy watching and participating in most athletics,” he says. “I also enjoy hunting and fishing.”
He recently has picked up a pretty useful hobby, woodworking. He even built his daughters a bunk bed, so Dr. John is good with his hands both in and out of the office.
“I always knew I wanted to be in healthcare,” Dr. John says. “My mom saved an assignment from when I was in first grade. It asked what we wanted to be when we grew up, and I said, ‘doctor.’
“My junior year in high school, I hurt my back in football. After suffering for almost a month of getting injections and taking meds, my parents sent me to a chiropractor. He fixed me with two adjustments in two days. I think that’s when I knew this was my calling.”
He is pleased that his passion led him to Shiloh. “I love working at this location of The Joint because the community is a melting pot of people, everyone is from somewhere else,” Dr.John says. “I meet such a wide variety of people from all over the world every day. Also, my coworkers and bosses are great folks; that part is so important.”
In Case You Didn’t Know
Dr. John says the one thing he keeps in his kitchen are pickles. “I’ve eaten them every day since I can remember,” he says. “I love them.”
If he could share his love of pickles over dinner with any figures from history, he would choose presidents Abraham Lincoln, John F. Kennedy, and George Washington, along with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. “I would love to get to know them and listen to their views on life,” Dr. John says.
The coolest thing he has ever done, he says, “is being dad to three amazing daughters. I’ve been excited my entire life to be a dad; by God’s grace, I am now, and I’m loving every second of it. I’m blessed beyond words.”
My name is Dr. Hall, I have been a chiropractor the past 4 years and a proud Logan University alum. I have made St. Louis my home the past 7 years and am privileged to be able to provide chiropractic services to the communities in the Shiloh, IL area. I joined The Joint in 2014 and have thoroughly enjoyed being able to provide routine and affordable chiropractic care to patients. The convenience and accessibility of our clinic is why I love showing up to work everyday. Helping people achieve their health goals and remain active in life is the reason I pursued a career in chiropractic.
When not helping patients at The Joint, I love exploring the St. Louis area. I spend a majority of that time with my dogs, Artie and Luke. The benefits chiropractic care has provided me has allowed me to continue enjoying spending as much time outside as possible. Thank you for your time and look forward to helping you achieve your health goals.
