Dr. Victor W. Dapkus is a Board-Certified Chiropractic physician who joined the team at The Joint Chiropractic, located in Northbrook in 2017. Now, Dr. Vic is extremely excited to open The Joint Chiropractic at a new location in Shorewood, IL. He describes The Joint as rewarding, affordable and a place that makes overall health and well being a top priority.
Dr. Vic has over 20 years of experience in the chiropractic and medical fields. His inspiration to become a chiropractor happened while working with physicians at Rush Hospital and in Urgent Care Centers. He noticed physicians would first treat patients with prescriptions for their pain and/or other conditions. He believes there is a way to treat a patient that is not entirely dependent on medication or immediate invasive surgery. The best part of being in the chiropractic field is to constantly find ways for people to regain and maintain optimal function and quality of life.
In addition to operating a successful chiropractic clinic in Chicago for 14 years, Dr. Vic was involved in aquatic rehabilitation. He instructed and coached a group of patients for competitive swimming and helped others become physically stronger and more mobile. Dr. Vic was an active board member of Louis Valentine’s Boys and Girls Club for several years. He volunteered by taking special need children fishing, serving meals to the less fortunate, and participating in annual fundraisers.
In 1999, Dr. Vic earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, IL. He is a current member of the Illinois Chiropractic Association and the Illinois Prairie State Chiropractic Association. He received several achievement awards including a recognition award for Continued Chiropractic Value and Support from the Chicago Police Department and a Heroic Action award from the Chicago Park District.
He enjoys swimming, traveling, and spending quality time with his wife, Carol, and two wonderful daughters, Alli and Lauren. Dr. Vic looks forward to being responsive to the needs of his patients and help them achieve their individual health goals.
Dr. Michael Scardina was born and raised in Oak Lawn, IL. Dr. Scardina obtained his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 2017 from National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, IL. He has been in the Chiropractic field for over 10 years as a devout patient and now a doctor for The Joint since 2018.
Dr. Scardina thrives on helping patients enhance their lives through the power of Chiropractic. From a young age he knew he wanted to be a doctor after losing his mother to breast cancer. Improving and eliminating pain and suffering is the forefront to why Dr. Scardina loves what he does.
In addition to helping an array of patients, ranging from newborns to his 90 year old Italian grandmother, he has also had the privilege of treating those with headaches, scoliosis, ulcerative colitis, and cerebral palsy.
Dr. Scardina would not be the doctor he is today if it were not for his wife Vanessa and his 4 children- Gracie, Vinny, Mia, and Bella. When he is not working at The Joint, he is watching sports, going to the movies, and taking vacations.
