Dr. Abadom is Board Certified and currently certified with Physical Therapy Privileges. His professional certificates include Functional Gait analysis, Sacral Occipital Technique, Sports Management and Injuries, and Thompson Drop technique. He mainly uses Diversified as well as instrument-assisted soft tissue techniques, including the activator technique. He is also SOT certified. Dr. Abadom is interested in treating various conditions, including low back pain, neck pain, headaches, and sports injuries.
Dr. Abadom was born and raised in Howard County, Maryland, and is a graduate from New York Chiropractic College. He completed his clinician rotations in the integrated Seneca Falls Health Center in New York State, as well as the Rochester VA Hospital. Dr. Abadom completed his undergraduate degree at Widener University in Chester, PA, where he attained a Bachelor's of Science degree in Biological Science and Environmental Science. It was while playing football for Widener University that he developed his passion for chiropractic care. Dr. Abadom's early interest includes philanthropy work demonstrated by his founding of the first annual Day of Service for his college.
Dr. Abadom chose chiropractic care after shadowing a family friend who owned a practice in Mount Airy, MD. It was one of those moments that he immediately knew this was his calling. He loved the one-on-one interaction he had with each patient but mostly seeing the immediate neck or low back pain relief they received when they left.
Chiropractic care helps patients improve their quality of life by restoring proper joint motion and Dr. Abadom gets no greater satisfaction than seeing someone come into our Columbia chiropractic clinic in pain and immediately leave with a smile on their face, knowing they're on the path to better health and have a professional that will listen to and guide them. With each chiropractic adjustment he delivers, it helps their spine get back to normal alignment. It's so common to ignore the slightest pain, thinking it would go away, but without addressing the problem and correcting it, it will only get worse to the point where it's a constant pain. Chiropractic care serves to stop or halt that progression.
Dr. Abadom treats a wide range of patients in Columbia - from pediatric patients as young as 4 to teens, adults, seniors, and pregnant patients. He has been practicing in his hometown of Howard County, Maryland, for the past 8 years, and he is excited to continue to bring education and empowerment to the community.
His favorite quote that he lives by was from his 7th-grade teacher: "Good better best, never let it rest, till your good gets better, better best."

He and his wife also enjoy karaoke. Dr. Black has a strong interest in nutrition and vitamins, emphasizing the importance of fruits, vegetables, and vitamins in reducing inflammation. He explains that inflammation, characterized by cortisol, fibrotic tissue, and collagenase, is a primary target of chiropractic treatment, causing pain and discomfort. He aims to educate his patients on managing inflammation while providing adjustments and therapies.
