Dr. Jane M. Salem joined The Joint Chiropractic family in 2016 and the Salem location in 2017. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in science from Salem State University before attending New York Chiropractic College.
“The thing I love about being in the chiropractic field is the opportunity to help people increase their health and wellness naturally,” says Dr. Salem, a native of Bradford, Mass., who has worked in Orange County (Calif.), Las Vegas and New York City. “Less is more. It’s not about the noise.”
In her spare time, she enjoys walking, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, camping and gardening. But she also absolutely loves volunteering for hospice care.
“Volunteering in a hospice facility allows me the opportunity to have encounters with people I never would have crossed paths with otherwise in this lifetime,” she says. “It is an honor to hold the hand of a person while they are in transition and in the final stages of their life. I have met incredible people who have told me their life stories. I get to experience living history through these people.
“I also find that the people I meet who also volunteer are really nice and that I have a lot in common with them.”
Dr. Salem greatly enjoys being in Salem and working at The Joint every day. “I like this area and how convenient it is,” she says. “All you need or want is right here. I don’t sit at a desk all day. I like coming to work; it’s different every day.”
In Case You Didn’t Know:
Dr. Salem says the one thing that has to be in her refrigerator at all times is almond milk. “It’s a must-have in my daily smoothie,” she says.
The coolest thing she has ever done was to become a chiropractor, she says, because “I get to see people’s lives change.”
And yes, Dr. Salem realizes her last name is Salem, that she went to college at Salem State, and she now works in the city of Salem. So what’s that all about? “I’m not sure myself,” she says with a laugh.
Dr. Nicole Dawson is a California native who attended Life West Chiropractic College in the San Francisco Bay area. After graduation in 2004, Dr. Dawson move to San Diego where she practiced for 13 years before joining us here in New Hampshire in 2018.
Her love of chiropractic started when she was just 15 years old. Having experienced chronic sickness as a child, she saw a big change in her immune system and overall wellbeing after undergoing routine chiropractic care. It changed her life and inspired her to join the field of chiropractic to help others on their journey toward better health.
In her spare time, Dr. Dawson enjoys hiking and swimming. She also participates in several volunteer programs such as: The Pajama Program, caring for foster children, Girl Scouts and is a proud member of The Daughters of the American Revolution.
