Meet The Doctors

Dr. Justin Shemenski, D.C. is a Chiropractor at McCandless Crossing

Dr. Shemenski grew up in western PA, graduating from Burrell high school, and later received his bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Being a life-long wrestler and athlete spurred his interests in sports medicine and exercise physiology. He actively competed as a MMA fighter for nearly a decade and was featured on the cover of the nationally published book Unleashing Manhood in the Cage. He attained his doctorate at D’Youville College in Buffalo, NY. His clinical experiences included rotations at the Erie County Medical Center hospital system, a large multi-disciplinary sports medicine practice, and the University at Buffalo medical school’s neurosurgery clinic. His doctoral thesis on modulating the immune system using a common anti-histamine drug in Lyme disease was published in the biomedical journal Medical Hypothesis in 2016. After graduation, he returned to the Pittsburgh area and worked as the clinical director of two multi-disciplinary practices that treated a large range of musculoskeletal conditions with traditional allopathic medical treatments, physical medicine modalities, physical rehabilitation, and chiropractic care. While studying for his doctorate, Dr. Shemenski acquired a deep interest in nutrition, medical research, and functional medicine. His clinical goals are to help people optimize their health through natural methods and to promote patient education regarding natural and preventative medicine as well as chiropractic.

Dr. James Sites, D.C. is a Chiropractor at McCandless Crossing

Dr. James Sites was born and raised in New Kensington, Pennsylvania in 1975. He attended St. Joseph’s Elementary School followed by Central Catholic High School. After high school, Dr. James attended both Allegheny College in Meadville and CCAC in Monroeville. Two and a half years after graduating from Central Catholic, he matriculated to Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa to start his chiropractic education at the age of 20. After graduating Palmer in 1999, Dr. James moved to Atlanta, Georgia to begin helping people live healthier lives. While there he helped 4 different high school athletic programs to prevent and recover from injury. In 2002 Dr. James moved to Denver, Colorado to work with other successful chiropractors, helping them with their missions to increase people’s quality of life by improving their function. In 2009, Dr. James moved back home to Pittsburgh where he has, again, had one singular focus. To help people. Other than living the chiropractic lifestyle, he enjoys weight training, yoga, traveling, and making and drinking craft beer.

Dr. Bill Howrilla, D.C. is a Chiropractor at McCandless Crossing

Dr. Bill Howrilla grew up in the North Hills area of Pittsburgh where he attended North Allegheny School District. He went on to attend Penn State where he received a BS in Human Physiology. He received his doctorate in Chiropractic from Logan University in St. Louis Missouri. Practicing a ‘family style’ type of practice from ages newborn to 94 years old he began to get an increased interest in nutrition and biochemical function, so he acquired his Certification in Functional Medicine from Functional Medicine University in 2015. He enjoys serving the public with a rounded type of practice utilizing many styles of adjustments. In his leisure time he enjoys being a foodie with his wife while still living the Chiropractic lifestyle and enjoys the outdoors from hiking to biking. Walking a majority of the Appalachian trail is on his bucket list as long as there is time to sample some wine and craft beer along the way.

Dr. Clint Glenn, D.C. is a Chiropractor at McCandless Crossing

Dr. Clint Glenn has always had a passion for natural healthcare. From an early age, he would visit the chiropractor periodically for neck and back pain and to help with sports performance throughout high school and college. It was not until chiropractic care greatly helped him while attending undergrad that he began to appreciate the benefits that chiropractic can have on overall health and wellness, and not just neck and back pain.

Dr. Clint attended Logan College of Chiropractic in Saint Louis, Missouri, graduating with formal training in over eight chiropractic techniques. In addition to this, he has treated patients in numerous unique clinical settings, including a competitive pediatric rotation and a personal injury clinic focusing on auto accident care.

When he’s not in the clinic, Dr. Clint enjoys playing guitar, reading, being involved in his church and spending time with his family. Dr. Clint is passionate about natural healthcare education and making sure his patients have all the resources they need to make the best health decisions for themselves.

Dr. Julia Mancini, D.C. is a Chiropractor at McCandless Crossing

Dr. Julia Mancini is excited to bring her deep passion for promoting health and healing to The Joint Chiropractic. She went on to earn her bachelor's degree in Exercise Science from Florida Gulf Coast University and in 2018, Dr. Julia earned her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Keiser University's School of Chiropractic Medicine in West Palm Beach, FL. Following her doctoral studies, she expanded her expertise with additional training in acupuncture and dry needling, as well as functional medicine and prenatal care. She recently moved back to Pittsburgh to be closer to family after almost 11 years in Florida. She is excited for the journey ahead, and the opportunity to help the population of individuals she grew up with.

Dr. Julia’s passion for chiropractic care is rooted in her own personal story of overcoming severe illness early in life, a journey that inspired her to help others achieve better health and well-being. She firmly believes in the power of chiropractic care, along with proper nutrition and exercise, to transform lives.

Dr. Brandon Scholze, D.C. is a Chiropractor at McCandless Crossing

Dr. Brandon Scholze grew up in western Pennsylvania, where years of playing ice hockey in the Pittsburgh area sparked a lifelong passion for athletics and movement. He earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from Stevenson University, serving as a three-year captain of the university’s ice hockey team. His athletic background inspired a deep interest in human performance, injury recovery, and movement-based care.

Dr. Scholze went on to earn his Doctor of Chiropractic and Master of Science in Strength and Human Performance degrees from Parker University in Dallas, TX. During his clinical education, he completed a clinic-based internship at Colorado Springs Spine and Injury Clinic, a personal injury-focused practice offering multidisciplinary care. This experience strengthened his skills in musculoskeletal injury management, rehabilitative care, and functional assessment within an integrative model.

While pursuing his graduate studies, Dr. Scholze also worked as a senior lead ice hockey coach with the Dallas Stars organization, where he applied his performance knowledge to athlete development. This dual experience reinforced his belief in the power of strength and rehabilitation to support injury prevention and long-term recovery.

Dr. Scholze is passionate about providing individualized, compassionate care that helps patients reduce pain, restore function, and regain confidence in their bodies. His clinical interests include functional rehabilitation and strength and conditioning as tools for lasting health and performance.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Scholze finds joy in the outdoors—camping, hiking, rock climbing, and exploring new trails—staying active and connected to nature.
