“We wanted to live in an area that offered outdoor activities and sports, and Chattanooga won our hearts immediately,” Donnelly said regarding his move and their choice.

A graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, Donnelly’s initial career pursuit was law.

Donnelly stated, “My father was a successful service station owner, and I naturally planned to follow in his footsteps, but I suddenly found myself being pulled in a different direction. I had a higher calling into chiropractic care in order to serve others in my community.”

He will primarily head up the fifth clinic scheduled to open later this month next to Mean Mug and McCallister’s on Battlefield Parkway in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia.

The Joint Chiropractic opened its first clinic in Hixson in November 2019. There are also three other clinics in Cleveland, NorthShore and on Gunbarrel at Hamilton. A sixth clinic is slated to open in Dalton, Georgia in early 2023.

    Update 2023-09-12: If you work at a desk all day, you need weekly chiropractic adjustments. Dr. Cody and the staff are going to be a key part of your health and wellness without you needing to take more medicine. ----- I've been getting adjusted at the chiropractor since 2000, but had neglected it the past few years because of the rising cost of it (my insurance didn't cover it). I am a firm believer in the science of it, but money is money. I was referred to The Joint from a friend, and I was blown away by the model. For not much more than the cost of a visit of my previous Chiropractor, I get 4 visits a month. Additional lists are only $10 as well. You can get in and out in usually ten minutes. If you're in any sort of pain, but have neglected getting adjusted regularly because of the cost - you owe it to yourself to check out The Joint. The staff is incredibly friendly, and you'll wonder how you ever went through life without getting regular adjustments. It's life changing. As a dad of 3 who sits in front of a computer all day (work from home), I need the adjustments to keep my body performing at its peak.

    I have a plan with The Joint originally from Colorado Springs. Every city that I visit, I try to keep my adjustments up to date. I have been dealing with Frozen Shoulder or adhesive capsulitis for 6 months. I have been to PT, had dry needling, completed every exercise known for this problem. Dr. Donnelley tried a new approach to me with trigger points and I have had more relief since seeing him in all the months with other treatment.     I was in terrible pain on a Friday afternoon. I called The Joint hoping to get in on Monday, but they invited me to visit their office late that same afternoon. I found out that the initial evaluation visit was under $30 and got an adjustment that same afternoon! I was amazed that I could be seen that quickly. I was told to come back again within the next 48 hours. They are open both Saturday and Sunday! Wow! Most of the Dr offices in Chattanooga aren't even open on Fridays. Today is Sunday, and after my last adjustment with Dr Tom Donnelly, I am walking without pain, only discomfort. Such remarkable progress in just a few days, I am very grateful for my experience with this clinic and their accessibility. I will be going back for a few more sessions, and may consider their wellness plan in the near future. One of the best medical field experiences I've ever had!

    Dr. Donnelly, Dr. Tyler and Dr. Mike are fantastic! Dr. Donnelly even showed my husband a few techniques to do with me at home for headaches that are incredibly helpful! So far the adjustments are the most helpful thing I can do for constant headaches and neck pain.     Best chiropractic place in town! The doctors are great and have really helped me out. I’ve been to another chiropractic office in Chattanooga before (not The Joint) and it felt like I walked into a marketing scam. But not at The Joint at Gunbarrel. Everybody is genuine, kind, and down to earth. Also, the receptionist, Kate, is the best receptionist I’ve personally come across in a really long time. I’ve personally told her that she’s exceptional at her job. My husband agrees. It is very hard to find good service nowadays and she is always helpful, respectful, and goes out of her way to make sure you have a great experience at The Joint. Somebody needs to give Kate a raise.

    I don't like giving bad reviews. Each location and provider are different * But, when you're an XR/CT/MR tech and in the first visit to chiropractic in 20 years - for general health- and the one guy on duty - tells me by looking at me ? without any ? that suddenly, "you have scoliosis" ....???? One of the silliest things I've heard in 30 years of healthcare. I walked in for a stretch and a crack to help general old age stiffness, and I walked out 20 minutes later without any referral to imaging, and LAUGHED. You mean all my care providers and all the surgeons and Neuros I've worked with MISSED it !?! Wowser. Luckily I immediately told my hairstylist who recommended someone else! (I should've waited to talk to my hairstylist- who spills ALL the local ? and if anyone performs miracles, it's him!!) Need a chiropractor? Ask your stylist. Not to say all of them are this way - my husband saw one at this location and had positive results - he wasn't on duty unfortunately. If you sense something is wrong, trust your gut. *i do NOT have scoliosis, but if I did, and I'm not reporting ANY pain at nearly 60 yo, I'd be fine! But then he couldn't talk me into the higher monthly payments could he? BTW a coordinate care for someone who does have scoliosis* so in this case, my medical classes and experience are better than his. Maybe this Chiro at the Hixson Publix just needed new Glasses? ?

Zoe is an amazing lady, and should receive a raise, or at least a lunch or something special, as she definitely is the kindest and thorough customer service personal that I have ever had the pleasure to deal with.     I came in today with pain in my left shoulder/bicep and my lower back. I was warmly greeted at the front desk by Kylie, who reviewed my credentials and had me update some information because I hadn’t been here in a while. After that was complete, I saw Dr. Donnelly and he “worked his magic.” The adjustments that I received relieved the pain in my back and decreased the pain that I am/was feeling in my shoulder/bicep. I will definitely be back soon, looking for to the “ Colonel.”

    AVOID THE SCAM - I was expecting an actual recovery experience here, not to be rushed in and out within 10 minutes of my arrival time. The treatment consisted of three cracks and a little pressure gun thing that was used in one pass on my shoulder. Not sure how this is supposed to help at all. On top of that, they pressure you into signing up for the monthly plan, only to find out you are FORCED to pay for this for two months. This is even for customers who have not yet tried the service. There are obviously happy people that come here but im not sure what they have done - I felt no different after either of my services. Make sure you try a session before you commit to the monthly fee. Such a waste of money.

    This was my first time seeing a chiropractor and I was really nervous! Dr. Cody did a thorough assessment and listened to my areas of concern. He then explained everything before performing the adjustment. I have not been able to crack my lower back for almost 2 decades and wow. Within minutes the stiffness and locked sensation was released. Definitely recommend. Not only am I no longer scared, I am actually looking forward to my next appointment!

    Wow, what a nightmare I came in for one initial treatment for $29. I do not recommend it. The chiropractor who treated me did not help. He was extremely rough. I missed most of the appointments on my plan due to a family loss. They weren’t able to reset my plan but they did give me a refund for the plan and I appreciate that.

    The Chattanooga location is a waste of time! I will NOT be back there! They're supposed to take new patients until 1 hr before closing, i got there at 2:00 (2 hours before closing on a sunday) as a new patient. The lady Doctor stated she had exsicting walk in patients that always came 2-4 and she might be able to fit me in if i wanted to wait. The front desk associate was completely rude and stated it would be the doctors descrition if i got seen or not today. Needless to say, I didn't complete the visit, i walked out letting them know i would not be back!

    They will charge you continously for months, with out telling you, or sending anything related to what they mail you, and still charge you per visit, went it to get it sorted and my mom who's card is on file, got charged monthly, they threatened to have her removed from the store, and were the absolute worst.

    Love the idea and simplicity. Staff always friendly and the location is operated really well. Some practitioners are more skilled than others, but all are excellent to receive care from. There are very few compromises that you make for the price versus going to a private practice through insurance. I have seen dozens of chiropractors but I'm sold on the Joint.

    Dr Hamlin was extremely knowledgeable and made me feel well taken care of. Edit: I had to change my review because despite the fact that they advertise a two onto commitment and then month to month after that I asked for them to charge my card for my new month so that I could get one last adjustment before I left for a month on a business trip. They did not do that and so I did not go. They then decided to charge me 2 days later after I had already left. When I reached out to them I was told that they could not refund it due to it being an “over due balance”. So now they’ve charged me and I won’t be able to use it at all. That’s just bad business practice and a horrible way to treat someone who brings their business to you. I will not do business with that kind of business moving forward. Keep your word. I’ll go some place closer to me.

    Beware......during my first visit I sustained an injury from their manipulations. I told the therapist immediately and she didn't seem to give it any real attention. Everyone was apologetic and said to come back and see the doctor there. They told me they would send me for imaging, but just found out that they would not pay for them. If you read the agreement they have you sign, It says that they are not responsible for any injuries THINK ABOUT THAT Do you really want a company manipulating your body that could possibly severely injure you and not be responsible. NEVER AGAIN

    I came in to get adjusted due to car accident the day prior. I brought X-rays and doctor’s summary that none of my bones cracked or broken, however, I was denied service and was told “ the doctor did not have time” because I was a new pt. It was Sunday, not many places opened on Sundays. I work in medical field and we don’t deny pt because we “ don’t have time”, it’s not in our practice. Very disappointed.

    I have a bad back from over 20 years of Military Service. I have days where my back is so stiff and sore that I don't want to do anything. I tried a messages, heat, and anything else I could find. Nothing would last for more than a few hours. I finally tried a Chiropractor and the results were incredible after the first visit. After one visit I had three days of no stiffness and the soreness was no where near what it was in the past. After my second visit with the cracking and realignment of my back I felt even better.     Most all the chiropractors listen to you. I've only had 1 that did something to my lumbar area that I questioned because I know that is where some of my problems are. The ones I see the most have helped me figure out what works best for me. I like the fact that when I go out of town that I can still be seen and they have access to my records.

    I paid for a first time patient visit which included first adjustment, didnt get one. All she did was use the handheld tool on my back, absolutely no adjustment at all. If i had known I wouldnt have came. I was in soooo much pain and needing it very badly, still do.

    Very convenient! Close to my home and open 7 days a week! I've been going to this location less than a month and I am impressed! Dr Cody and his office staff are very professional. I feel amazing when I leave the office! Quick and easy, in and out, no appointment necessary and the longest I've had to wait to be seen was about 5 minutes. The best part is no insurance! I have insurance but I have to be reevaluated every five visits and it got to be a hassle so I just stopped going to my regular chiropractor. Dr. Cody keeps up with your progress and maintenance and gives very helpful information to use between visits! Well worth the money!

    The doctors I’ve had experienced at this location have been great to work with, however Gabby, the receptionist is rude. The last time I visited their office I was having a conversation with her about my account and amount of visits as this isn’t the typical office I visit. She immediately gave me sass and coped an attitude with everything she said to me in a room full of people in the lobby. Repeating, “I’ll message who you’re talking about l, but it does NOT work like that.” I replied kindly yet again and said I understood what I was discussing might not have been typical but was the case ok’d by my typical chiro. She was making me out to be a liar coming up with some story repeating the same statements in a rude and loud way. After our exchange I felt so uncomfortable I didn’t even want to stay for my adjustment but did because I had a migraine and was hurting. Even as I left she was rude in her comment. I will NOT visit this office as long as she man’s the desk at this location which is a bummer because it’s second closest to me. By the way she messaged said people to “find out/prove me wrong” and found out what I was trying to convey was the case and she was wrong. 0/10 customer service skills.

    The staff is friendly, does an excellent job explaining what they are doing and what position they need you to get into to do the adjustment effectively. They are also very efficient yet take the time to make sure you are seen (feel important). My sciatic symptoms are gone.

    Seen three different Drs not one has made any adjustments. Just pop with table and a clicker to my sore area. Do not feel any different. I ice down sore area like I was told. But doesn't seem to help.. Don Sizemore

    I've been going to The Joint Chiropractic for almost a year now. I've had great experiences at all locations. They usually see to me within 5 minutes or less. They are super nice people and very knowledgeable. The receptionists have always greeted me with a smile and always ask me with a smile "How can we help you today?" I greatly appreciate their help. When my key tag gets damaged or lost I get it replaced for free. They are super helpful. That's why I continue to use The Joint. They're great!

    Update 2023-09-12: If you work at a desk all day, you need weekly chiropractic adjustments. Dr. Cody and the staff are going to be a key part of your health and wellness without you needing to take more medicine. ----- I've been getting adjusted at the chiropractor since 2000, but had neglected it the past few years because of the rising cost of it (my insurance didn't cover it). I am a firm believer in the science of it, but money is money. I was referred to The Joint from a friend, and I was blown away by the model. For not much more than the cost of a visit of my previous Chiropractor, I get 4 visits a month. Additional lists are only $10 as well. You can get in and out in usually ten minutes. If you're in any sort of pain, but have neglected getting adjusted regularly because of the cost - you owe it to yourself to check out The Joint. The staff is incredibly friendly, and you'll wonder how you ever went through life without getting regular adjustments. It's life changing. As a dad of 3 who sits in front of a computer all day (work from home), I need the adjustments to keep my body performing at its peak.

    Great team of chiropractors! I thought I would find a favorite and have to juggle scheduling for when that person would be there, but I actually found I like how they each do adjustments a little differently from one another.
