That triggered competing on the Pro-Am road cycling circuit. The greatest value of chiropractic is keeping your spine young as you age. Dr. Rob graduated from Life University in 1999.
Dr. Tamara Burkhead has been a chiropractor since graduating from Sherman College in 2001. In her youth she was a dancer, working in dance companies and musical theatre. When she was 14 years old, after having a back injury during rehearsals she consulted a chiropractor and to her surprise, she was helped. Over the years whenever there was a flare up of her back pain she would go to get “fixed”. When she was in her early 30s she began experiencing back pain caused by stress that left her on the couch unable to move. Once again she went to get “fixed”, but this time it she saw a chiropractor who was able to convey to her the importance of routine spinal care. His ability to get to the root of the problem transformed her life. Going to the chiropractor quickly became her favorite part of her week, and she went on to become a chiropractor herself. She also has not had that debilitating pain again since she began taking care of her spine.
Dr. Burkhead has worked for other chiropractors and has owned her own practice, but was never happy with the limited view insurance companies have of chiropractic and its benefits. Working with The Joint represents a fulfillment of her long standing commitment to helping people function at their highest capacity, and to do all the things they want to do in life by making chiropractic care affordable and convenient.
She recently moved to the Memphis area from Florida to be near her family. She has a grown daughter and a white mini-schnauzer, and is looking forward to being able to enjoy Memphis’s music scene.

She started shadowing different healthcare fields ranging from medical doctor to physical therapist to dentistry and, finally to, chiropractic. She decided she wants to pursue chiropractic and was accepted to Life University in Marietta, GA. She received her Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 2011.
Dr. Jennie also has a degree in Health Information Management and is certified as a Registered Health Information Technician since 2014. She has taught Health Information Management and Medical Office Professional courses for over 5 years. Dr. Jennie has married her sweetheart whom she met online in a random chat room for 10 years.
