Dr. Molly C. Schneider joined The Joint Chiropractic in 2021 when she became part of the team at the Johnson City clinic, where she does the rewarding work of helping people as their local healthcare provider.
“The best thing about being a chiropractor is being able to make people feel better without drugs or traditional medical care,” she says. “It’s such a great feeling when you can positively impact another person’s life with minimal intervention. I love hearing the cracks and pops -- whatever you want to call them, we love them!”
Dr. Molly, as her patients call her, grew up in suburban Cleveland along Lake Erie. Although her husband Brett was a college rival from Michigan, he fell in love with Tennessee life. Their family consists of three dogs, a miniature Dachshund named Zeus, a black Labrador named Bo, and a corgi-blue heeler mix named Dakota.
In her spare time, Dr. Molly enjoys “anything that feels like a new adventure,” but can often be found hiking and spending time on the water.
She earned her doctorate at National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, Ill., after getting a bachelor’s degree in pharmaceutical sciences from Ohio State University.
“While I was working on my undergraduate degree, I started working in a retail pharmacy as a tech to try to gain as much experience as possible,” Dr. Molly says. “It was the first job I ever had that I actually hated. I realized that this might be a bad sign for me going forward in the field and started to consider other options that were still in the medical realm, but more natural. Chiropractic jumped to the forefront after I hurt myself working out and saw a chiropractor who was able to treat the pain and get me back to 100 percent in no time. I saw what a difference I could make in people’s lives and never looked back.”
One of her more memorable experiences with a patient actually involved three members of the family. “I was seeing a patient during her pregnancy with twins,” she says. “She was tall and thin, so I could always see the twins moving around in her belly when I was adjusting her. After the babies were born, she brought them into the office when they about a week old and they were pretty fussy, so we ended up adjusting them that day and it was amazing how big of a difference it made and how fast it calmed them down.”
In Case You Didn’t Know
Given the opportunity to invite any four people from history to her ideal dinner party, Dr. Molly would send invitations to Albert Einstein, Leonardo da Vinci, German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche, and psychologist and LSD advocate Timothy Leary. “Science intrigues me,” she says. “I’m not much of a dinner party person, but I bet a party with those four would be anything but boring.”
Dr. Molly always keeps caffeinated tea available: “Coffee tends to upset my stomach, so tea is my caffeine fix.”
Perhaps the most memorable experience of her life was the cold-weather honeymoon she and her husband decided to take, which included three days in Finnish Lapland north of the Arctic Circle, and two weeks in Switzerland traveling by train. Their exploits included a glass-covered igloo, dog sledding, a winter safari on a reindeer-pulled sleigh, the Matterhorn in the Swiss Alps, skiing on an avalanche on St. Moritz, and sipping wine on Lake Geneva. “All of it was just incredible,” she says.
Dr. Kyle Umland joined The Joint Chiropractic’s team of local healthcare providers in 2022 when he began serving residents in Johnson City, where he relishes the opportunity to serve the community with work that he finds so fulfilling.
“It is great to help people feel better and healthier by increasing their inborn natural healing power via the chiropractic adjustment,” he says. “It’s rewarding to have been able to work with so many people, of all ages and backgrounds, over the years and seeing positive changes that chiropractic has made in their lives.”
Dr. Umland -- you can call him Kyle if you’d like -- grew up in Southern California and worked in Pasadena, home of the Rose Bowl. He and his wife have two sons and a rescue dog named Hooch. “I love being out in nature,” he says. “I have always been a big hiker and camper, and in the last decade I got into mountaineering.”
Dr. Umland earned his doctorate from Los Angeles College of Chiropractic after earning a bachelor’s degree in biology from Cal Poly Pomona.
“I had a friend going to chiropractic college and I went to classes with him for a week and discovered that the whole chiropractic philosophy of health -- nutrition, exercise, and keeping the body’s frame in alignment -- really fit with my own lifestyle.”

One of the highlights of his career as a chiropractor was working with country music legend Johnny Cash on the set of “Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman.” “I really enjoyed that,” Dr. Umland says. “He was a very down to earth nice guy.”
One of Dr. Umland’s greatest experiences in literature was The Bounty Trilogy by Charles Nordhoff and James Norman Hall: “I read it as a kid and it transported me to the adventures of sailing the south Pacific, a dream I still have.”
The coolest experience he has had was holding his first son, Peyton, “right after he was born -- what an amazing feeling of love. It puts everything into perspective.”
Dr. Tim Dunne joined The Joint Chiropractic in 2024 when he became part of the team at the Johnson City clinic, where he does the rewarding work of helping people as their local healthcare provider.
He really enjoys providing treatment and promoting health for people without the use of pharmaceuticals. “I love helping my patients develop a healthy lifestyle,” he says.
He previously worked in Carleton, Mich. and Toledo, Ohio.
Dr. Dunne grew up near Detroit. His wife, Cindy, is also a chiropractor. They have four children and seven grandchildren.
When Dr. Dunne isn’t working, he enjoys spending time with family, bodybuilding, and cheering for the University of Michigan’s football team.
Dr. Dunne earned a Doctorate of Chiropractic at Life University in Marietta, Ga. where he studied rehabilitation and sports. He became interested in pursuing chiropractic through the realization that a healthy lifestyle includes chiropractic care.
One of his most memorable experiences was working with athletes at Milligan University, on the USA Bobsled Team, and The Arnold Classic professional bodybuilding competition.
What he likes best about working with the residents of Johnson City is the opportunity to have a positive effect on a large number of patients.

Dr. Dunne always has eggs and rice on hand.
His favorite experience in life is the meaningfulness of being a father and grandfather.
One of the best books Dr. Dunne has ever read is The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman.
If he wrote an autobiography, Dr. Dunne would entitle it Life is a Choice.
Dr. Dunne’s favorite advice came from his grandfather who said, “Live YOUR life.”
