Meet The Doctors

Dr. Hamid Kantara, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Cross Creek

Dr Kantara has been in the healthcare field for over 30 years. After working as an EMT/Paramedic in Mobile Intensive Care Unit and level 1 trauma Center, Dr Kantara discovered Chiropractic and without hesitation made a leap into holistic medicine. He received his doctorate in chiropractic from Texas Chiropractic College.

“Being able to take a person who suffered for years because they were told there are no other options and navigate their body back to better health, without drugs or surgeries, is very humbling,” says Dr Kantara. “Watching someone who was skeptical about chiropractic become a believer never gets old. That look in their eyes, the smile on their face, the amazement and appreciation in their heart is phenomenal. Very few professions delivers that kind of impact.“

Dr Kantara has a 10 year old son who is into Karate and near receiving his blackbelt. Their dog Kwincy, is a very sweet nine-year old maltipoo that they adopted two years ago and has been a great addition to the family.

Dr Kantara was born and raised overseas. He came into the US at the age of 19 to build a foundation and pursue an education in the medical field. The Houston suburban area has been his home ever since. He enjoys reading and studying leadership and personal development, traveling, movies, and volunteering in the community. Dr Kantara used to be a runner but now is focused on weight training and fitness kickboxing.

God’s gift to us is an abundance of water, says Dr Kantara. It is an absolute necessity for anything on this planet, from a balanced climate to the function of human body. “Water is essential for life and for living in optimal health.”

Giving the opportunity to share a meal with any four characters from history, Dr Kantara says his perfect dinner party would include the Pope so he can be blessed; mother Teresa so he can be humbled; a US soldier so he is always reminded of those who sacrifice for something greater than themselves; and Robin Williams so he would never forget that laughter is the best medicine.

Dr Kantara teamed up with The Joint Cross Creek because he believes in “alignment before assignment. Who you work with is more important that where you work, says Dr Kantara. “Getting to know the owners has been an honor and an opportunity to work together to help improve quality of life for many who need it but can’t afford the more complex clinics.”

Dr. Megan Walker, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Cross Creek

Dr. Megan grew up in Wisconsin but got to Texas as fast as she could. She double majored in English and Philosophy as an undergraduate at Texas State University, then studied Rhetoric & Composition at the Master level. Ultimately, she decided to pursue a career in healthcare at Texas Chiropractic College where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Human Biology and Doctor of Chiropractic degree.

In addition to her academic pursuits, Dr. Megan has an extensive background in fitness and wellness, with 12+ years of experience as a yoga teacher, group fitness instructor, competitive powerlifter, and personal trainer. She is passionate about the life-enhancing benefits of an active lifestyle and takes great joy in every opportunity to help her patients improve their health and wellbeing. She is particularly enthusiastic about the positive health impacts of strength training for women, having benefited from them herself, and holds a special certification in pre-natal & post-natal coaching (CPPC) for new mothers and mothers-to-be interested in maintaining or improving their fitness.

Dr. Megan was inspired to join the chiropractic profession by her late mentor, whose compassion and fervor for helping people live pain-free lives moved her to change careers. Dr. Megan enthusiastically chooses to practice at The Joint Fulshear/Rosenberg because its friendly, efficient clinical setting allows her to follow in her mentor’s footsteps, providing compassionate, hands-on, evidence-based musculoskeletal care to as many people as possible.

Currently, Dr. Megan lives in southeast Houston with her wonderful husband and their 3 fabulous dogs. When she is not treating patients at The Joint, she enjoys lifting weights, running intervals, coaching athletes, and reading up on the latest sports science and chiropractic research.

Dr. John Ramirez, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Cross Creek

Dr. John Ramirez was born in Wharton, Texas and raised in West Columbia, Texas. Dr. John received his bachelor’s degree in Biology with a Minor in Business from Texas State University-San Marcos in 2006. He achieved his Doctor of Chiropractic from Palmer West College of Chiropractic of San Jose, California in 2010 and is licensed by the Texas State Board of Chiropractic. Dr. Ramirez owned Columbia Chiropractic in West Columbia, Texas for two years, then in 2014 he transitioned into the oil and gas industry working in operations. In late 2021 Dr. Ramirez returned to Chiropractic full-time. Dr. Ramirez joined the Joint Team in March 2022, and is at the Fulshear Cross Creek, and Rosenberg Locations.

Dr. Ramirez loves Chiropractic because he “loves being able to help improve people’s lives, keep them out of pain and help them to stay mobile.” Dr. Ramirez explains how his first experience with Chiropractic as a teenager changed the direction of his life.

“My first Chiropractic treatment was when I was 19 years old. I had sustained a lower back injury while lifting weights and was having problems getting in and out of a chair. Chiropractic got me out of pain and into wellness. This amazing experience with Chiropractic led me full circle to becoming one.

When not seeing patients, Dr. Ramirez spends his time with his family. Dr. Ramirez explains that:

“In the past I enjoyed riding motorcycles, mountain biking, surfing, and riding horses. Since my daughter was born and is now 3 years old, my life consists of tea parties and dress up. I enjoy experiencing holidays and life through my daughter’s eyes. So now it is all about family time and adventures to water parks, the beach, and anywhere we can pet animals!”
