Meet The Doctors

Dr. Brad Hendricks, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Cottonwood Heights

Dr. Brad Hendricks joined The Joint Chiropractic family in 2014 and became owner of the Cottonwood Heights clinic in 2015. A graduate of Brigham Young University with a bachelor of science degree in human biology, he received his doctorate of chiropractic from Los Angeles College of Chiropractic in 1989.

“I love the natural side of healing,” Dr. Hendricks says. “I like how I can assist the body’s ability to heal and achieve balance.

“The other thing I really enjoy is working in an environment where most people leave with a smile on their face and feel good about coming to see me.”

He is happy to be in Cottonwood Heights. It’s been quite a trip to get here from the small farming community in Washington where he grew up.

“I worked for six years in Los Angeles after graduation,” Dr. Hendricks says. “I ran a couple personal injury and worker’s comp clinics and was a QME -- qualified medical examiner -- for the state of California. I moved to Salt Lake in 1993 and joined a large multi-disciplinary clinic with MD, DC, PT, massage, acupuncture and rehab treatments. In 2000 I opened a similar clinic in Draper, and practiced with my partners there for about eight years. I stopped practicing for a few years while I worked on a start-up company that did online wellness but I missed the patient interaction. So, when I saw The Joint model, it made sense to start practicing again.”

In his spare time, Dr. Hendricks loves to read “anything from novels to biographies to non-fiction,” he says. “I like to spend time outside biking, hiking and golfing. I also picked up the game of pickleball and enjoy playing as much as I can.”

He and wife Catherine -- they were college sweethearts -- have four grown children, a granddaughter, and a cat named Henry.

“I started school as a pre-med major and was planning on going to medical school, but after a time, I started thinking more about natural healing and chiropractic made sense,” Dr. Hendricks says.

Another thing that makes sense to him is The Joint Chiropractic.

“I like The Joint model and philosophy, that patients can get the care they need easily and affordably,” Dr. Hendricks says. “I like the simplicity of the practice, especially not having to deal with the hassles of insurance billing and coding, and I can focus only on patient care.”

In Case You Didn’t Know

Dr. Hendricks says he always has some baby back ribs in his refrigerator. “I love to smoke a rack of ribs anytime I want,” he says.

If he could share those ribs with any four people from history, he would guarantee himself a decent night of conversation.

“I would include Bono, who’s one of the greatest songwriters and rock singers,” he says. “I came of age in the ‘80s, so he’s one of my heroes. Brian Regan is one of the funniest comics of all time; I love to laugh and he would entertain me endlessly. Ben Shapiro is one of the smartest guys I’ve ever listened to and I would love to sit down with him and see if I could keep up. And finally, I would invite Leonardo DaVinci. He was the epitome of genius in so many areas, I would love to find out what his thought processes were.”

DaVinci would no doubt be impressed by the coolest thing Dr Hendricks has ever done.

“I had a competition ski boat for many years and I once learned to barefoot waterski,” he says, “and that is cool because it’s freaking barefoot waterskiing!”

Dr. Michael Hill, D.C. is a Chiropractor, Clinic Director at Cottonwood Heights

The Joint Cottonwood Heights is excited to welcome Dr. Michael Hill to our practice. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that will benefit our patients.

Dr. Michael Hill graduated Cum Laude from Los Angeles Chiropractic College and has been in practice for the past 17 years. He has worked in both private practice as well as being with The Joint for the past 8 years. He has a passion for routine maintenance chiropractic care & will recommend that routine care to every patient to keep their bodies functioning and working optimally.

In his free time, Dr. Hill spends as much time as he can with his 3 children and plays golf as much as possible (which unfortunately isn't much). A huge football fan, he is excited about returning to the Salt Lake area where he treated many High School athletes for years.

Dr. Megan Gorton, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Cottonwood Heights

Dr. Megan, is a transplant to Utah, originally from Eagle River, Alaska. While in Alaska, Dr. Megan was involved in many sports including Competitive Cheerleading, Flag Football and Soccer. She aided as medical assistant to the Alaskan Collegiate Summer Baseball Leagues, traveling to various communities throughout the region. Dr. Megan has since evolved her love of the athletic environment and competition into her ongoing education and career.

Once leaving her hometown, Dr. Megan went on to receive her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Utah Valley University. Throughout her undergraduate degree, Dr. Megan worked extensively with the athletic department assisting in athletic competitions, which ultimately landed her a coveted Sports Medicine Internship with the US Olympic Committee. During her time in Utah, she worked in the Operating and Emergency Rooms as well as Physical Therapy offices to further understand the dynamic of healthcare. Recognizing the value of conservative and holistic medicine beneficial to any population, Dr. Megan went on to receive her Doctorate in Chiropractic with an emphasis in Sports Medicine from Southern California University of Health Sciences. During her Chiropractic schooling, she completed courses in FAKTR (Functional and Kinetic Treatment with Rehab), Rock Tape, Webster Certification (pregnancy care), energy healing, and various technique building seminars. Upon graduation, she was nominated for the President’s Award demonstrating outstanding work in her profession, school involvement, and community service. Her enthusiasm for sports, wellness, and the health maintenance mindset has extended far into the community where Dr. Megan has aided in a host of events. These outreach community events have included AVP Volleyball, Men’s SurfSki, Lacrosse, local CrossFit tournaments, and Women’s BMX.

Dr. Megan’s career goals include creating an environment where health and wellness can unite for specific contoured treatment for everyone. She believes as our bodies and our health evolve, we should feel confident and empowered to maintain mobility, strength, and wellness to overcome the discomforts of life. Hence, EVOLVED CHIROPRACTIC was born to serve the community.

In addition, Dr. Megan loves the outdoors. She is an enthusiast of backpacking, camping and hiking - hoping to one day accomplish the Pacific Coast Trail. Dr. Megan has a strong devotion to board games, with Settlers of Catan among her favorites to play with family and friends. Sampling weekly new flavors of Crumbl Cookies and listening to True Crime podcasts are included in her top favorite hobbies.

She is not only licensed as a Chiropractor in the state of Utah, but also in the state of California.
