Dr. Jared Fiedler became part of The Joint Chiropractic’s team of local healthcare providers in 2021 when he began serving residents in Chesapeake and the Norfolk region, where he continues doing the work he finds so rewarding.
“The thing I love most about being in the chiropractic field is being able to help people with years of pain, without answers from other doctors, and being able to make them feel better with just my hands,” he says. “I actually enjoy being the person that patients come to after they have gone everywhere, with no answers, and I give them a diagnosis within minutes and relieve their pain with just a few non-invasive adjustments.”
“Dr. J,” as he is called by patients, is a product of central Pennsylvania and worked previously in Pottstown, Pa., and Virginia Beach.
He enjoys spending time with his children, running, and playing soccer.
Dr. J earned his doctorate from New York Chiropractic College, and a master’s degree in human anatomy and physiology at Pennsylvania State. He has also acquired a fellowship in international Acupuncture, and is a certified chiropractic sports physician.
“I had grown up under chiropractic care my entire life,” he says. “My grandfather was a chiropractor. Although he passed away before I was born, the lifestyle of natural health was always instilled in my family while growing up.”
He is excited to share that information with his patients. “I love working at The Joint because of how affordable the care is and how we can help out so many people who wouldn’t have been able to get care elsewhere,” he says. “The fact we have clinics all over the country is extremely helpful for us and our patients, as well.”
Dr. J’s patients include professional baseball players; he is the official chiropractor for the Norfolk Tides.
In Case You Didn’t Know
If he could bring together any four people from history together for his ideal dinner party, Dr. J would bring together singer Dave Matthews “because I respect him as an artist and philanthropist; Steve Jobs because he was an innovator in the field of technology; Tom Hanks because I respect his career and would love the hear his stories; and Mother Teresa because i would want to hear her thoughts on the world today.”
Dr. J says the coolest thing he has done professionally was treat a major league baseball player who had seen other physicians all over the country for his condition: “I got him to return to play in just a few adjustments.”
Dr. J says his go-to snack is American cheese.
