She says the best part about being in the chiropractic field is helping patients understand how to take care of their health.

When Dr. Duncan is not working she enjoys spending time with her spouse Kellen and her son. She says she knew chiropractic care was for her after receiving chiropractic care for a lower back injury as a teenager.

Dr. Duncan says the four famous people, living or dead who would comprise of the perfect dinner party are, “Dr. Heidi Haavik: One of the top chiropractic neurology researchers in the literature at the current time. She is constantly advancing the understanding of neurology especially as it relates to chiropractic and is practicing, teaching and publishing at an amazing rate. Dr. Chester Wilk: One of the most influential chiropractors of the previous generation, he was instrumental in the lawsuit against the American Medical Association’s illegal movement against the chiropractic profession which, once won, allowed growth into federal funding and benefits to veterans and representation on medical boards across the United States. Dr. Robert Melillo: One of the leading experts in research into neurodivergency and whose research was a turning point for helping me understand my own ADHD and use my brain to its fullest potential. Dr. Daniel Jackson: Though fictional, he is a leading expert in linguistics, archeology, anthropology, and ancient history and would be a fantastic addition to the above dinner party because of his diplomacy in getting seemingly unrelated experts to have open dialogue and get things done.”

She says the coolest thing she has ever done is, “Adjusting my son for the first time when he was 45 minutes old. Watching his body immediately change from his adjustment is probably one of the coolest things I have ever participated in. Dr. Donald (DJ) Butterfield grew up primarily in Utah, by way of Texas, Okinawa, Japan, and Independence, Missouri, thanks to his father’s work in the United States Air Force. After high school, Dr. Butterfield served as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, in Perth, Australia for two years, before joining the Air Force himself. He was introduced to chiropractic after a work accident at the age of sixteen, and maintained an interest in holistic healing throughout his time as a missionary and in the military. In 2012, Dr. Butterfield relocated to Davenport, Iowa to pursue his dream of a chiropractic education at Palmer College of Chiropractic, the school founded by the father of Chiropractic, D.D. Palmer, in 1897.

While at Palmer, Dr. Butterfield trained in a variety of chiropractic techniques, including Activator Methods, Diversified, Thompson, Logan Basic, and Quantum Spinal Mechanics. Dr. Butterfield was privileged to complete a portion of his residency at two Community Outreach clinics, providing care for under-served communities in Iowa and Illinois. He has experience treating immuno-compromised patients, as well as those with cerebral palsy and other permanent health conditions. Thanks in part to his wife’s two pregnancies during his time at Palmer, Dr. Butterfield has also developed techniques to alleviate many of the discomforts of pregnancy and to facilitate optimal birth positions for baby.

After graduating with a Doctorate of Chiropractic and a board certification in physiotherapy, Dr. Butterfield and his family returned to his wife’s hometown of Albuquerque, embracing the incredible climate and beautiful culture of New Mexico. He was pleased to be a member of the New Mexico Chiropractic Association and developed many friendships through the association.

Dr. Butterfield currently resides in Virginia Beach, Virginia with his beautiful wife and wonderfully active six children. He enjoys time at the beach with his family and working out at the YMCA.

Dr. Jared Fiedler is a dedicated chiropractor with a passion for helping patients of all ages achieve optimal health. He earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from New York Chiropractic College in 2012 and further expanded his expertise by obtaining an acupuncture certification in 2016. In 2018, he became a Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner (C.C.S.P.), allowing him to specialize in treating athletes and active individuals.

With years of experience, Dr. Jared has worked with patients ranging from newborns just hours old to individuals over 100 years young. His extensive background in sports chiropractic includes serving as an on-call chiropractor for the Norfolk Tides baseball team, giving him valuable experience working with professional athletes.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Jared enjoys long-distance running and spending quality time with his two children. His passion for chiropractic extends beyond the office, as he is committed to helping people live healthier, more active lives through natural, hands-on care.
