Dr. Leondra Holmes grew in a military family so she has lived in many places but she spent the majority of her time growing up in Fayetteville, North Carolina. She graduated from Bethune-Cookman University in 2015 with a major in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. She later gradated from Life University in 2019 with her Doctorate of Chiropractic degree. Dr. Holmes began working at The Joint in May 2019. She says the best part about working in the chiropractic field is the ability to make healthy connections, care for, and help promoted healing in individuals of all ages.
When Dr. Holmes is not working she enjoys any type of water activity, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. She has a chihuahua and terrier mix named Trixie. One thing she must have in her fridge at all times is ranch! She says, “it is my favorite dressing and goes with almost everything hot or cold!” Dr. Homes says the coolest thing she has ever done was when she went on a mission trips to the Bahamas (to build a library for underprivileged kids) and El Salvador (to administer chiropractic care to the community). She says, “these experiences helped me better embrace compassion, friendship, and trust regardless of any language barriers.
Dr. David Boylan grew up in Canada, Ohio, Wisconsin, and South Carolina. He attended Clemson University and graduated with his Bachelor of Biological Science degree. He later graduated from Sherman College of Chiropractic in 2020. Dr. David says the best part about being in the chiropractic field is, “helping people achieve life-changing results.”
Dr. David knew chiropractic was his calling the first week of college. He says, “I was still skeptical, but I quickly learned how much chiropractic care can help everyone! In that same week a student who was about to graduate told me “If you plan on becoming a chiropractor you should try to be the best; so when people are relying on you, you can help them”. After that I knew what I wanted to do for the rest of my life and worked extremely hard to become a doctor people can rely on and trust.”
When Dr. David is not working he enjoys playing recreational sports such as soccer, basketball, snowboarding, skiing, tennis, longboarding, and mountain biking. His next goal is to learn how to surf! Dr. David is married to Dr. Shelby McHugh, D.C. who is his college sweetheart and the love of his life. They have two border collies, Cora and Fox.
Dr. Davis says the coolest thing he has ever done was win an early playoff soccer game for his high school team.
“As a freshman, by scoring a goal with only a few minutes left. The other team unbelievably managed to score a penalty shot (from what my entire team considered a bad call by the ref) in stoppage time, leading to overtime. In the last few seconds of overtime, I scored the second game-winning goal and the whole team rushed the field lifting me up into the air and cheering for me!”
“The first goal I scored was when a lobbed ball from our defense was falling right outside the 18-yard line with no one except their keeper in sight. I was able to fake him out, allowing me to head the ball over him and beat him in a race to the ball, where I scored the goal."
“For the second goal, I made an incredible pass from mid-field to our striker who took the ball to the corner and crossed it in front of the net. Since we were running out of time everyone had hustled into the box causing chaos. The ball passed a few people and then started getting hit back and forth with my team shooting at the net and the other team trying to get it as far away as possible. It seemed like it was bouncing off players as they were diving and throwing their bodies on the line to save or score.”
