Meet The Doctors

Dr. Patrick Gorrell, D.C. is a Chiropractor at West Seattle

I truly believe that I was called to serve in my life. From a young age, I have always felt my best when I was helping others. When I found chiropractic, initially as a patient following a broken femur, I found an outlet that allowed me to work hands on with people, and that has given me the opportunity to make deep lasting connections.

I was born and raised in the wild and wonderful West Virginia. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology with a minor in Developmental and Behavioral Psychology from West Virginia University, I continued my education at Palmer College of Chiropractic, in Florida. In 2017, I was fortunate to receive a Doctor of Chiropractic position in the greater Seattle area, where I fell in love with the Pacific Northwest.

It is my goal as a Chiropractor to lead alongside patients. To walk with them, rather than pulling or pushing them. To keep their ‘why’ in the forefront of my mind. My favorite populations to serve are those that I feel are generally under-served in different ways. I believe that the level of health that chiropractic care brings should be accessible to everyone.

No matter what life hands you, whether it be health concerns, pregnancy, injury, trauma, addiction, or a cognitive difference, we were all born to be healthy. Your innate intelligence can thrive and should be fully expressed. I am so grateful for the opportunity to serve this community!

Dr. Maya Shamsuddin, D.C. is a Chiropractor at West Seattle

Dr. Maya is a board-certified chiropractic physician, who was born in sunny Southern California, at the age of two she moved to Birmingham, Alabama where she grew up on a small horse farm. Their she developed a love for horses, the outdoors, and rural southern living. When she was sixteen she moved back to the West Coast where her family settled in Eugene.

After completing her bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and Medical Humanities at Oregon State University she went on to study at the University of Western States to obtain her Doctorate of Chiropractic Medicine. Dr. Maya was first introduced to the chiropractic profession in college while working as a chiropractic assistant in Corvallis, Oregon. In undergrad, Dr. Maya had planned to go to medical school but shifted gears toward a more holistic approach to medicine after she saw firsthand how helpful and healing chiropractic care can be for individuals from all walks of life.

Dr. Maya has a particular interest in prenatal, postnatal, and women's healthcare. To help continue her education and training in this area she became certified in the Webster Technique, a technique used to help decrease pain, and discomfort, and gain proper pelvic alignment for women throughout their pregnancy. She is also a member of the ICPA (International Chiropractic Pediatric Association) and attends continuing education courses and seminars emphasizing treatments and therapies for both mother and infant.

Dr. Maya believes in evidence-based medicine and uses her clinical knowledge and research-based techniques to treat the whole patient, not just the problem. Aside from her interest in women's health, she also has experience treating adolescence, adults, older adults, and children. Dr. Maya’s main purpose in her work is to help alleviate pain, help teach and encourage individuals to practice living a healthy lifestyle, and understand how chiropractic care can improve their lives.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Maya loves to maintain an active lifestyle by running, weight lifting, and spin classes. In her free time, she also loves to get outdoors hiking and camping in the beautiful PNW.
