The Joint Growth Continues
Fast fulfilling promise as leading franchise opportunity.
- Recognized as Hot Trends to Own in Franchising for 2012 by Entrepreneur Magazine
- 215 franchises awarded
(Scottsdale, AZ) June 13, 2012 -- John Leonesio, is right. Again. First, the franchising visionary was right - and all but alone in seeing the potential in providing affordable and accessible massage services.
The result: Massage Envy, which Leonesio took from franchise concept to a $300 million company with more than 800 licenses awarded in just six years.
Now, Mr. Leonesio is being proven right for seeing the potential in providing affordable and accessible chiropractic care.
The result: The Joint..the chiropractic place, fast approaching its 200th franchise sold and just recognized as Hot Trends to Own in Franchising for 2012 by Entrepreneur Magazine. The Joint's number of franchises already sold represent a growth rate twice as fast as that of Massage Envy during its days as a franchise darling.
Amazing? Perhaps. But surprising? Hardly.
"There are many similarities between the massage therapy industry and chiropractic care," Leonesio said. "Both are more and more being incorporated into people's health and wellness routine. So building The Joint on the Massage Envy franchise model just made sense. And clearly, it's working."
Is it ever. Leonesio himself admits to be taken aback by the growth rate of The Joint.
"I originally said 10 years and 1000 franchises," Leonesio recounted. "To already have 215 franchises sold and nearly 400 in the pipeline (through Regional Developer units awarded) it is quite astonishing. Especially given the economic times we're in. But it's proof positive the model for The Joint works for both members and franchisees."
Not surprisingly, many of those who've jumped aboard The Joint juggernaut are present Massage Envy franchisees.
"Once again, Mr. Leonesio displayed a visionary sense when it came to franchising The Joint," said Dennis Conklin, Regional Developer for both The Joint and Massage Envy in San Diego. "The successful business model he put in place with Massage Envy provides the impetus for a successful franchise opportunity with The Joint. His blueprint for success means success for others. Self included."
In total, 18 Massage Envy franchisee owners have been awarded 68 franchise units for The Joint. It's a case of familiarity breeds success.
"John has a proven track record of success with various franchise models over the years," said Kim White, president of WMC Clinic Development and a Massage Envy Spa franchisee. "So when I became aware he was involved with The Joint, I knew it was something I should seriously consider. It's another great offering that will now open the door for our clients to get high-quality and affordable chiropractic care."
Said longtime associate and The Joint Regional Developer Bruce Conner: "I met Mr. Leonesio 20 years ago in the health club business and I knew then he was a great leader. His track record speaks for itself. I've been a Massage Envy franchisee for 7 years now. So when John came on board with The Joint, there was never a doubt that I would seize on another of his great opportunities."
