The Joint Chiropractic Care

Tye Erwin jumps out of airplanes for a living. He's a smoke jumper, fighting fires anywhere in the western states. "My exit weight out of the door is 255 pounds."

As you can imagine, Tye suffers some aches and pains. On this day, he's getting adjusted to help take care of them. This is The Joint. A new business model for chiropractic offices in northern Nevada. Dr. Ricky Delacruz is the chiropractor. "Here we actually offer chiropractic services that are not insurance based, not appointment based, people can come in whenever they want and pay one small monthly fee and you can get up to four monthly adjustments on that fee."

That fee, is $49 a month. Just like at a gym, you get a membership card you swipe at the front desk and head on back to the adjustment room. Dr. Delacruz says he wanted to get away from the insurance game so he opened The Joint which is a national franchise. He says the hope is to keep people healthy and out of pain."Just like when you go to the dentist you go to get checked up and not necessarily when you have a cavity or you feel pain so chiropractic is similar. It's good to get checked up before things start to become a player."

Through September 11th, The Joint is offering free adjustments for first responders and their families. People like Tye who says in just a few minutes, he went from having some issues to feeling great. "It was fantastic. I feel better right now."

The Joint is located at 6395 S McCarran Blvd, Reno, NV 89509. For more information, call (775) 200-0017 or online at
