Columbus Business First: Franchisee opening second clinic in Gahanna

Franchisee opening second Joint chiropractic care center at Stoneridge Plaza

By: Dan Eaton | Staff Reporter | Columbus Business First

The Joint must be hitting the spot. The Scottsdale, Ariz.-based chiropractic care chain is getting a second Central Ohio storefront. Franchisee Chad Warner plans to open Wednesday at 4685 Morse Road in the Stoneridge Plaza near Gahanna. Warner opened the area's first Joint last may at 845 Bethel Road.

"The biggest thing we've experienced, and this was the same with Massage Envy, is the educational piece," Warner told me. "For chiropractic care, people normally only go when there's an ache or pain, but we promote overall wellness."

Warner also owns four Massage Envy operations around town.

The Joint and Massage Envy are separate businesses but share many common franchisees. Both were founded by John Leonesio, CEO of the Joint and past CEO of Massage Envy. Both take a health and wellness approach and establish offices it in high-traffic areas alongside restaurants and retailers.

"A lot of our customers use both," Warner said.

Both of Warner's Joints are near his existing Massage Envy sites. He hopes to open additional spots near his Massage Envy centers in Dublin and Westerville by the end of the year as well.

His Massage Envy footprint is growing, too, with a fifth set to open in the Shops at Worthington Place this summer.

"This is a test for us," Warner said of the new center. "We call it a mini-clinic and it'll have seven rooms instead of the usual 12 or 13. This will help us fill gaps around town."

He's also looking for space in the Blacklick area.
