Continued growth in and around Music City has come with its share of businesses planting roots in Middle Tennessee, and another one is gearing up for its grand opening weekend in Sumner County.
The Joint Chiropractic, a Scottsdale, Ariz.-based network of more than 500 locations nationwide, opened its seventh location in Middle Tennessee, and two more locations are on the way.
It’s “the nation’s largest network of non-insurance, private pay chiropractic healthcare clinics in the United States,” according to a Joint Chiropractic news release.
Hendersonville's grand opening
The chain's newest store, at 1006 Glenbrook Way in Hendersonville, officially opened its doors last month, but special grand opening activities are planned throughout this weekend, from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. daily on Jan. 23-26. The new clinic shares a shopping center with other businesses including Teriyaki Madness and IVX Health, near Hendersonville Smile Dentistry and Kroger, the company notes.
The grand opening special includes a free consultation, exam and adjustments for new patients, as well as door prizes, games, refreshments and a chance to win $500, according to the release.
How can chiropractic care help?
Dr. Ryan Footit, of Hendersonville, said most patients he treats report lower back pain.
Chiropractic care is “one of the safest forms of health care that exists,” Footit said, noting that if chiropractic care isn’t sufficient to a patient, he or she will be referred to a medical doctor.
About 62% of U.S. adults have experienced neck or back pain “significant enough that they saw a health care professional for care,” the Joint Chiropractic release states, referencing a Gallup-Palmer College of Chiropractic annual report. That includes 25% who saw a health care professional within the past year.
The Joint Chiropractic serves millions of patients nationwide each year with natural, drug-free healthcare, which can benefit anyone from growing children to active seniors, its release states. It aims to “alleviate pain and help move patients toward a healthier lifestyle, including those seeking relief from pain, stress and tension disorders and improved posture or joint motion and coordination, migraines and more.”
The Joint Chiropractor reports that the need for chiropractic care is expanding because of the necessity for drug-free solutions to opioid, obesity and pain epidemics.
Its 2018 annual survey found that 26% of patients are new to chiropractic care, up from 13% in 2013.
The 'convenience factor'
Paul Trindel, regional developer of the Joint Chiropractic in the Nashville area, said the Joint Chiropractic centers “around our convenience,” with no appointments necessary and availability on evenings and weekends.
“We’ve really been growing at quite a rate,” Trindel said.
The Joint Chiropractic Hendersonville joins its existing counterparts in Brentwood, Clarksville, Cool Springs, Mt. Juliet, Murfreesboro and West End in Middle Tennessee. Additional locations in Antioch and Bellevue are coming soon.
“It really comes back to the convenience factor,” Trindel said of what sets the Joint Chiropractic apart from other options.
After the grand opening weekend, new patients will pay $29 for their initial visit, including the consultation, exam and adjustment. There are plans and packages available for patients to choose from, Trindel said.
