Dr. Justin Brandau, DC, DACRB, MUAC is a highly experienced chiropractor in Anthem with more than two decades of clinical expertise in chiropractic care, spine health and physical rehabilitation. Originally from Nora Springs, Iowa, Dr. Justin grew up on a farm and first discovered the impact of chiropractic care in high school after a back injury during baseball. The fast, effective relief he received inspired him to pursue a career dedicated to helping others heal and stay active.

 

Dr. Justin studied at Waldorf College and Iowa State University before earning his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, Minnesota. He began practicing in Hopkins, Minnesota in 2002, and soon after followed his passion for sunshine and outdoor living to Arizona. Since 2003, he has proudly served patients across the Phoenix Valley.

 

With experience in both private practice and multidisciplinary clinical settings, Dr. Justin is one of only three chiropractors in Arizona to hold a Diplomate in Physical Rehabilitation. His background includes performing independent medical examinations for personal injury cases and being credentialed to perform Manipulation Under Anesthesia in multiple surgical centers. His clinical focus centers on restoring nervous system function through chiropractic adjustments, teaching practical home care strategies, and supporting patients with evidence-based nutritional guidance.

 

For the past two years, Dr. Justin has proudly owned and operated The Joint Chiropractic – Anthem, where he serves as the Lead Chiropractic Physician and is deeply committed to caring for the Anthem community. Born and raised in the small town of St. Ansgar, Iowa, Dr. Leraaen grew up watching his father serve the community as mayor – a foundation that shaped his own commitment to service and patient‑centered care.

 

Dr. Leraaen earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Iowa in 1993, proudly carrying his Hawkeye spirit with him to this day. During college, he was involved in a car accident and received chiropractic care for his injuries. The experience sparked a deep appreciation for the profession and inspired him to pursue his Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City, MO. After graduating in 1997, he relocated to Phoenix to begin his career and fulfill his vision of helping people achieve optimal health.

 

With 27 years of clinical experience, Dr. Leraaen is known for helping patients not only get out of pain but maintain long‑term wellness through routine chiropractic adjustments. He has completed extensive continuing education and holds certifications in chiropractic acupuncture and Manipulation Under Anesthesia (MUA). Over the years, he has served patients across the Phoenix Valley, earning a reputation for compassionate, results‑driven care.
