Dr. Mayra Resendez is originally from Los Angeles, but grew up most of her life in Phoenix, AZ. She went to Tolleson Union High School where she was involved in various after school clubs and the school's soccer team. She first heard about chiropractic through her father from which he was being treated for chronic low back pain at the time. She saw how well he was responding to treatment that she decided to get her first chiropractic adjustment after a minor soccer injury. Her love for chiropractic and chiropractor was what encouraged her to become a chiropractor herself. She is also an alumni of Arizona State University where she completed her Bachelors of Arts degree in French. As an undergraduate, Dr. Resendez studied abroad in Lille, France where she submerged herself in the beautiful French culture, language, and cuisine. While there, she was able to travel to other European cities which only strengthen her desire to travel the world. She is also fluent in Spanish.
In her free time she loves spending time with husband, family, and friends, spoiling her puppy Koa, cooking, kickboxing/boxing and hiking from time to time.
Dr. Resendez is a graduate of Southern California University of Health Sciences (SCUHS), Los Angeles College of Chiropractic (LACC). She is a Board Certified Chiropractor. She's happy to provide you with the chiropractic care you and your whole family needs.
Dr. Caiya Moncrief, born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi, attained her bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology at Mississippi State University. She continued with her education and later graduated from the prestigious Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas, Texas with her Doctorate of Chiropractic. She immediately relocated to Collierville TN, where she began her work, practicing in multiple clinics surrounding the Memphis metroplex area.
Before starting her education in chiropractic, Dr. Moncrief worked in a chiropractic clinic. She quickly became intrigued and inspired by the benefits that Chiropractic care provided. Seeing first-hand the health benefits obtained through Chiropractic care is where Dr. Moncrief found her calling.
Dr. Moncrief has had the pleasure of traveling and working internationally to provide the people of El Salvador with Chiropractic care; there she became familiar with treating a wide range of conditions. Dr. Moncrief specializes in Sports Kinesiology and Spinal Rehabilitative Therapy. She also thoroughly enjoys treating babies and moms to be.
Dr. Moncrief’s mission is to encourage families to live a happy, healthy and pain free lifestyle with Chiropractic care at its core.
Dr. Rick Marx graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology in 1972 and has pursued a number of employment adventures since then, including stints with the California Park Service, an actor in Hollywood, a Holistic Health Practitioner and massage therapist, and an equipment technician and training supervisor at a large university. But, it was not until he decided to pursue a deeper calling to be a chiropractor that his story took its present course. Dr. Marx realized that a radical course change was in order twenty years ago and entered Chiropractic College. He received his Doctorate from Cleveland Chiropractic College in Los Angeles, California in 1995, and has been practicing here in the Valley of the Sun ever since. Those years have given him a wide exposure to all ages and types of patients, as well as an appreciation of the power of the chiropractic adjustment to change lives.
He has a passion for teaching and sharing his knowledge and experience in the health care field with not only patients, but students as well, as he is also currently serving as adjunct faculty in the Biology Department at Paradise Valley Community College. Dr. Marx is excited to be joining the Joint organization because it represents a return to the purest expression of what he went to chiropractic school to learn how to effectively deliver - the life changing spinal adjustment, unlocking the power of innate intelligence (the Autonomic Nervous System) to heal and properly coordinate all the body's activities.
