Dr. Aaron Shakarian, D.C. began as an All-State Athlete and went on to play college football during his undergraduate program at Grand Valley State University in Michigan, which recently became the winningest program in college football history. He was inspired to pursue the profession of chiropractic after experiencing relief from multiple sports injuries and went on to graduate with honors from Life University in Marietta, GA with his Doctor of Chiropractic degree.
After graduation Dr. Shakarian opened private practices in his hometown of Livonia, MI and then Beverly Hills, CA where he was also an on-call doctor for TV and movie productions. When his first daughter was born, Dr. Shakarian decided to sell his Beverly Hills practice and relocate to family-friendly Chandler, AZ. His first year in AZ was spent working for The Joint Chiropractic’s corporate office and he believed in the brand so much that he purchased multiple franchises in the greater PHX market!
Over the years of Dr. Shakarian’s vast experience he has perfected multiple techniques to relieve those suffering with upper and lower back pain, neck pain, sciatica, severe migraines, vertigo, arthritis, sports injuries and several other ailments. He frequently treats patients of all ages who range from infants to senior citizens.
When Dr. Shakarian isn’t educating the community on the benefits of chiropractic care, he’s busy working out at the gym, golfing, and enjoying every sunny AZ day with his wife, Stacie and their two young daughters.
Dr. Katie Stewart originates from a small town in Ramona, California but was raised in San Diego, California. Dr. Stewart received her bachelor in kinesiology (the study of the mechanics of body movements) from San Diego State University in 2012 and has an emphasis in pre-physical therapy. She then proceeded to graduate with her doctorate from Palmer Chiropractic West in San Jose, California in 2016.
After graduation, Dr. Stewart’s first job was in Los Gatos and The Joint Chiropractic in Point Loma, California. In April of 2019, she joined The Joint Chiropractic team here in Arizona. Dr. Stewart loves to work with patients of all ages and her favorite thing about the chiropractic field is seeing the result of patients feeling better and healing quicker than they ever have in the past.
Since her graduation, Dr. Stewart has learned to tailor her care towards the specific needs of her patients. Whether this is sciatic pain, arthritis, jaw, hip or neck pain, Dr. Stewart strives to help her patients optimize wellness and happiness. Dr. Stewart finds her passion in treating expecting mothers.
Dr. Stewart is happily married to her husband John and has one daughter named Keira. The one item in Dr. Stewart’s fridge that she cannot live without is shredded cheese, she says it taste good on everything! When asked what the coolest thing Dr. Stewart has ever done and why, she says “visiting England, London, Italy, Austria and Germany for six weeks. It was cool because we saw so many unbelievable cathedrals and history. It is amazing how they renovate art and buildings to make them look so new but are thousands of years old. We saw the Leaning Tower of Pisa, Venice Beach, learned about glass blowing for jewelry. All I ate for about a week was gelato”.
Dr. Zachary Homer originates in a small town in eastern Washington and moved to Gilbert, Arizona when he was 14 years old. Dr. Homer finished his bachelor’s of science degree at Palmer College. He then went on to get his doctorate at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa in 2016.
After graduating, Dr. Homer worked at a chronic pain clinic in Scottsdale Arizona for 3 years until Dr. Homer joined The Joint in July 2019. He has been around chiropractic his whole life and enjoys sharing the benefits of chiropractic with others.
Since his journey started in the chiropractic field he has learned to deal with many different types of dysfunction as in sciatic, low back, neck, mid back or extremity pain. He knows that you have to tailor the treatment to the patient, whether that is the young or old or any where in-between. He has also been a patient of chiropractic care his whole life because he understands how important spine and nervous system health is to living a long and pain free life.
When Dr. Homer is not in the office helping people, he likes to go to sporting events, road trips, golf, spending time with his family and spending time outside when the weather allows it.
Dr Samuel Rodriguez was born and raised in Mesa, Arizona. When he was younger witnessed firsthand his mom going thru numerous surgeries to correct her back pain. It was then he decided to pursue a career in Healthcare. He went on to doing his undergraduate in the Exercise and Wellness program at Arizona State University with Magna Cum Laude Honors and graduated in 2007. He did his internship at a Physical Therapy Clinic in Banner Desert Medical as a Physical Therapy technician. During this time his mom decided to try alternative healthcare in Chiropractic and had great results with the adjustment being the focal point of treatment.
Once he saw the power of the adjustment, he immediately enrolled in Palmer West Chiropractic College in 2011. During his education he worked in the Cadaver lab as a dissector and tutor while participating in numerous school clubs including Sports Council, Neurology, and Motion palpation. Dr Rodriguez graduated from Palmer Chiropractic College in September of 2014.
Coolest thing he ever did was after graduation lived in Peru for a year. He got to live and explore all over the country from its desert coasts, mountains of the Andes and Jungles of the Amazon. While living in different regions he tried to surf the longest left-hand wave in the world (Chicama), eat at world class restaurants and experience several ancient cultures.
After moving back to the United States, Dr Rodriguez wanted to further his education and decided to get certified as a Chiropractic Sports Physician which is an additional 100 hours of online education, 4 weekend classes and one final test. Dr Rodriguez has practiced in Phoenix at Personal Injury/ Workman’s Comp Clinics and is now serving his community at the Joint in Chandler Ahwatukee.
He has learned to serve a wide range of patients from infants to grandparents with a range of cases, including migraine relief, sciatica pain, neck pain, arthritis, lower back pain, fibromyalgia, chronic injuries and more!
