Depression symptoms are usually associated with chronic sleep, low energy and generally feeling down. Although this is true, symptoms can also manifest themselves through excessive fidgeting due to overall feelings of agitation. If you find yourself missing out on sleep, pacing, fidgeting and just not being able to sit still, this could be another way that your body is telling you that you are dragging.

People who suffer from depression often have terrible physical pain as well. When you keep your feelings inside, they have to eventually come out somehow. If you aren’t letting them out emotionally, then they can come out physically. Whether it’s through body aches, headaches, digestion issues or sleeplessness, your emotions will get the best of you if they aren’t dealt with.

If you have been feeling down, you may also notice that it takes you forever to complete even the most menial tasks. Studies have shown that depression can cause low job performance. Not only can it be hard to focus, but your physical capabilities may also be impaired. If you feel like your system is being slowed down for no real reason, you may want to reevaluate where you are mentally.
You Are Mad
Depression can cause irritability, anger and impatience. If you can rule out other factors as to why you are are feeling so mad, such as lack of sleep, hunger and hormonal changes, depression may be the reason for your grumpy mood. This symptom usual persists in people who have been struggling with depressed mood for long periods of time.
You Have Major Cravings
If you find yourself constantly only wanting carby, sugary foods, this may also be a sign of depression. Similar to craving certain foods during hormonally erratic times, when you are mentally in a bad space your brain starts sending signals that it needs serotonin to feel better. The insulin in carbs can temporarily creates this serotonin, causing you to get that relief for at least a short period of time. If your body is always asking for these types of foods, there might be deeper reasons for these cravings.
